My 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost developed a noise best described as “farting” especially noticeable at idle. I hear the noice coming from the engine bay when I am sitting in the cabin but not so clearly when I open the hood and listen to the engine.
There is no performance impact except a slight decrease in mpg from 23.5 to 21.5 which could be the colder weather.
I used Forscan and there are no OBD2 codes.
I also noticed the EVAP purge valve on the top of the engine clicking and vibrating.
What do you think is the issue? Are the symptoms consistent with a defective purge valve on Ford engines?
It is under warranty and I plan to visit the dealer but I am curious.
