Do these cams retain the computer advance retard, or are they locked?
The TiVCT is used with the Steeda package. I believe there is more left in it with cam tuning as well.

Steeda's just talking about adding the Cobra Jet, dual TB adapter, and GSC camshafts

Also, they are talking HP at the wheels, where a stock GT will make 400-430 depending on how happy the dyno is.

Since I have the A10, I went out on a very empty roadway and went full throttle for several gear changes just to watch how little the rpm dropped with each gear change. My car is not tuned. It is stock as Ford designed it.

The engine never dropped below 6000 rpm that I could tell.

What this means is that the the rpm chart you posted shows all that additional power from the Cobra Jet manifold would be in the rpm band that the A10 cars are using at full throttle. In other words, this is not just "peak" horsepower, but the usable rpm range when full throttle, with the selector in D.

I’d love to know the cost of these builds. I’m betting it’s about the same as the price of the car itself.

Well, since they reinstalled the stock Gen 4 heads with no porting, no cost. Your car already has those.

The Cobra Jet manifold is $1450.

The Boschma adapter is 375 bucks.

I don't know what cams they are using, but I would guess, since the are still VCT, the R2 camshafts by GSC. $1776

I think you need the springs and retainers for those camshafts. $782

$4383 subtotal.

Tuning for E85 cost you should know well because you are in the tuning business.

Headers, again, this is a cost with which everybody is familiar.

Probably need the adjustable engine mounts (although Steeda did not use them, they cracked their throttle body, so now they have a video on installing the adjustable engine mounts).

Did I miss anything?

The GT comes with 480-486 (with active valve exhaust) stock, so 576 is 90-96 more. More than 50, not more than 100.

Not to throw water on the fire (the results are impressive) but most of that came from the fact that the car is running E85 vs 91/93 pump gas. E85 is over 100 octane and burns very cold. That allows for lots of ignition timing and aggressive cam timing (on a turbo... which this is not... you can run A LOT more boost).

I would like to see what the car could do on pump gas (for us regular folks).

And one is at the engine (480-486).

At the wheels that is 390-420 depending upon which dyno and air temperature and how hot the car is and correction factor, especially STD v. SAE.

The other, 576, is not at the engine. It is at the wheels. So you need to compare the 576 to the 390-420. Let's just take the high end, 420.

576
-420
156

So it is 156, not 90-96.

You're in Florida.

E85 should be all over the place at the pumps there. Racetrac usually carries it.

Look, they are pumping E85 fuel into the car in the state of Georgia, right next door to Florida!

How long would this combo stay together at the track if you're running around 7k?
Should be all day? I run higher at the track now, as it is shifting up around 7500 and never drops below 6000 rpm for the most part if I just leave it in drive. Pretty much any of the full throttle stretches (including one almost a mile long) and it is running up there.

Is this much more power too much on the Dark Horse bottom end, or are you suggesting something else is the problem?

Did anybody catch what Steeda is using for fuel injectors?
Let me see if Sergio can hunt this down with Scott - I will ask him to weigh in.

Thank you,

TJ

We are still running OEM Injectors on the 24.

The direct injection cars do not need an injector change for E85, so gen 3 and 4 are good to go as is. The gen 1 and 2 cars require the LU47 to run E85.
