Last week I wanted to lower the top on my 24 GT convertible to make cleaning the inside of the windshield easier. I found my under 5k miles battery dead and my charger didn’t charge it. Called Ford’s road side assistance and scheduled assistance. The call center apparently is in India because the representative was a bit hard to understand but helpful. The tow company came and his jump box enabled the car to start and drive to the dealership for a new battery under warranty. Talking with the service writers at the dealership they said a lot of batteries have died within three years so beware if your cars are approaching that time.

Thanks for sharing. Glad you were "stranded" at home, and not on the road. I haven't had a battery die on me in almost 20 yrs. I replace them every 5 yrs. I don't carry jumper cables either. I have a good charger, jumper at the house, but it's always used to help my neighbors. Fingers crossed I won't need roadside with the S650. 🙏

Funny you should mention this. It appears the battery in my 2019 Ranger was going bad (runs down in 4 days. Been there before). I had replaced 15 months a go. Replacement including mobile fees? Zero! Warranty can be a good thing.

I wonder what affect the auto start / stop affects the battery life. Thank goodness that feature is not present on cars with manual transmissions. I suppose it will be eliminated going forward with the current administration killing it.

I should have my batt tested. Got a low battery warning several times in February during our bitterly cold spell. And, I've gotten a shutting down to save batt advisory a couple times recently when I shut the GT off.

I'll bet my dealer is giving new ones away! 😆

Makes me wonder: is it the batteries' fault, or do Mustangs have parasitic drain issues

I've also used Ford Roadside when I got a flat on a rural road near Yosemite. Came in super handy. Their call centers are all over, I think I had agents from Philippines and US. But they were really good at following up, a case manager person was texting to make sure the tow truck got there and resolved it

Mine seems to go into battery saver mode if I'm working on it and cycling the ignition a few times without starting. Voltage is always over 12 too.

My wife’s 23 Edge ST had the same issue so it’s not just Mustangs.

UPDATE: To my post above. Darned if they aren't giving them away! 👍 As I'm still inside my original 3 yr/36 K mile warranty (2 yrs/9300 mi for me) ; my dealer told me if my batt tests low/replace; it's covered under warranty.

NOw; if I can just snooker them into replacing it with one of those feather weight LiON batts! 😉

I had an issue with mine, but the dealer said they would need it for an entire day to run the "Rotunda" machine on it. I said Nah. I'll wait until theres a real problem I guess. it has 3600 miles on it. but was built Jan/2023. $250 isn't worth my time to waste a whole day while a machine "Tests" the battery.

However I did give it a good charge after this and the A.S.S started working so I'll just let it be.
