Vapor Blue Metallic

I had a '66 Wimbledon White growing up in high school, my parent's car. That was the color I ordered in July 2024 due to the Nostolgia factor, and I did not like the 60th blue (like a flat light blue) or the red options. Then when the raffle Brittany Blue was announced, I happened to go back to the web to look at the three 60th color options, and I swear the Vapor Blue Metalic was a new option, replacing the first blue I saw. For a while, I could still find the original blue color on the web but eventually could not find that evidence anymore. Maybe I dreamed it up, who knows. Then my FORD dealer got a "50th" Anniversary Wimbledon White on the lot, and to be honest I was underwhelmed. So I changed my order. Still have a deep respect for that Wimbledon White color. This car and the other Mustang in my profile will have to play nice together. Brent

I got the Brittany Blue, it's my 3rd
My first was a '65 K code Fastback Silver Blue, and my 2nd was a '73 GT Fastback with the 351 Cleveland and a 4 speed it was competition red/orange

My 60th is in production as of 3/6/2025, ahead of the week of 3/10 estimated production.

Our dealer got a Wimbledon White about 2 weeks before our Brittany Blue came in.
I actually really like the white, wish we could get two.

My 60th Anniversary Mustang was ordered, built, and purchased in 2024.
Does that make it a 2024 1/2 ?

'65 was the official release year of the Mustang, Ford was in a hurry to get the car released that they did it in the spring of '64 rather than waiting till September, as it was the standard of the time!

From what I remember, 1965 was the Mustang model "year" debut, never heard of a 1964 Mustang model year. Typically, the current model year comes out around the late fall of the prior model year. So the first '65 Mustang couple & convertibles did come out from about April 1964, Fastback later, and they were unique to that period, meaning when we were in the 1965 year, there were changes made the 64 1/2 distinguished from the 65's. In my time of the early years, we did not want the 64 1/2's - they came with a 260, not 289, the hood different and back lights not required until 1966 and some more suttle changes that I don't remember. So whether the 1964 or 1965 is correct, we always called them 1965's in my day (mid 70's).
As far as Shelby, they ordered I believe 1965 fastbacks, which started production in August 1964, so if they took delivery for them to become GT350's late in 1964, that would make sense from their perspective to use the 1964 start of the Shelby. If you look at what I drive in my profile, I probably should be more informed.

Shelby's '65 GT350 was a winter project that started in late '64 to be ready for competition in SCCA in May of '65

Thank You both @BLZ57 and @Snowflee17. That is what I was looking for. I knew 64.5 but the thinking at the time is the aha..."we always called them 1965's in my day (mid 70's)" and "Shelby's '65 GT350 was a winter project that started in late '64 to be ready for competition in SCCA in May of '65".
