Just performed first oil change 1000 miles had to remove 15 7mm screws and 4 plastic push tabs. That was so frustrating, I put it back on but will probably keep it off next time. Anyone else leave theirs off?

Since this a year and half old, we have more opportunities for options Anyone aware of an aftermarket engine splash shield becoming available with a door for the filter?

Not aware of any commercially available undertrays with access doors; though if I remember correctly one forum member posted about his home made one.

If our UTs are anything like the ones I had on my Focus ST and Focus RS (fiber board with rat fur) it seems like it would be fairly easy to fab access doors by cutting them out and putting some sort of hard ware store hinges and a fastener on it?

You can change the oil filter from the wheel well with heavy aluminum foil shaped into a oil chute directed into your drain pan. I punch a hole in the filter first to empty it before twisting it off.
