Recall for a sticker seems simpler than saying bring it in so we can imprint a numberStickers like this are associated with a product made in the tens of thousands, changing hands several times, with a lifespan of up to 20 years plus.
The placard references topics involving emissions, roadworthiness, safety and maintenance standards.
I realize these things can appear trivial, but similar stickers exist on aircraft parts, medical devices and communications equipment.
Does anyone need to rush down to their dealer and get the issue corrected immediately? No. But it'd be a good idea to get it done, in the EU, or if the recall existed in the US, any of the states which perform safety and emissions inspections.
I get it. But sometimes, these stickers are all someone (the customs official at the importing dock) has to reference. Or will reference.
YMMV.
