Ummm.... no thanks!

I cannot think of one reason to subscribe to this service.... I'll keep using Google Maps or Waze instead. :giggle:
Just started using Waze myself and its much better than Google Maps . Lets you know about so much more . Started getting pothole alerts just recently

I only started using Waze 2-3 years ago, when I was up to 9 demerit points.

Google actually own Waze, since June 2013!
I just don't trust how much of the Waze reports flow through to Google Maps.

Google Maps has far superior navigation, especially when you divert off your original route for whatever reason.
Waze is dumb and will just keep re-routing you at the next turn to get you back onto your original route. And then the turn after that.... GM seems to pick up on your change of plans better.

Being a ham radio operator, I've got a VHF/UHF transceiver in the car (the RAV4 daily, not the Mustang!) and the UHF side spends most of it's time on Ch40, the highway channel. In recent years there has been a noticeable decline in reports re speed cameras ("a Kojak with a Kodak") etc. The truckies are obviously using Waze more than reporting over the air. UHF can still be handy to get a heads up on which lane to be in if there is a lane closure ahead of you.

The truckies no speaky English anymore either. I prefer WAZE. Google maps misses most speed traps, IME.

Finally got this off my back, the Mustang's first service.

S650 Mustang This Just Got Real! IMG-8202

Servicing has become a major source of anxiety for me. Handing over the keys to something I've spent so much time, effort and mental capacity keeping a certain way, well it's become harder and harder for me to deal with. There have been far too many times when something has gone wrong via the careless actions of others, which are painful mental scars that I can do without.

This was top of mind when I elected to skip the 3-month / 3000km inspection. At the time, the car only had 900 km on the clock, and after speaking with the service manager, she basically said don't bother. She also explained that 3000 km inspection does not have any bearing on warranty. So, I skipped it. More on this shortly.

Now that I've had the car for 12-months, there was no escaping the 1-year / 15,000 km service. When I rolled up at 8.30 this morning, my salesman was there to greet me. He apparently noticed I was on the list and wanted to check in with me. When he asked who was working on the car, I said I wasn't sure, but I'd asked for a master tech. He then went to make sure a certain guy was put on it, which was a massive weight off my shoulders. The service adviser could see I was on edge too, when asked when I wanted the car back, I said ASAP, to which she said "yeah, I can see you are pretty anxious". It was that obvious.

When I explained skipping the 3000km inspection and the lack of kms on the car, my salesman insisted they stamp for both the inspection and todays 15,000km service. When I picked up the car, both had been filled out. This isn't them or me doctoring the books, just the reality of a very unusual situation where the car is 1-year old but hasn't even cleared the 3000km mark yet.

Also, I'm extremely grateful for what my salesman did today. He sold the car, his job was technically done. Especially 12-months after said sale. He knows my service department backstory, so I'm appreciative of the effort he put in, above and beyond what his job description entails. When we first me in 2022, he had been in the job just a few months. He's since earned himself several Ford sales awards, not just at a dealer level, but within the wider Ford brand. No doubt making sure his customers are looked after before, during and after delivery is key to that. Car salesman often get a bad rap, but not this one.

And finally, look who's back........................

You and me are alike in allowing others to touch my car. They didn't pay for it so they can't care about it as much as I can. I work hard for everything I have. I only want people messing with my car that give a damned. I talk with the service people so I can determine whether I will let them mess with my cars. If they transmit that "I don't give a damned" too much, I walk. Attitudes and culture determine quality of service.

What a total legend! Allan raced before my time, but even as a budding Ford man, I knew exactly who he was and what he meant to the Ford faithful. He's one of the reasons why Falcon became the success it was, without his racetrack presence, Falcon was just another car.

Back in the late 2000's, by chance I actually got to meet Allan at the Melbourne Motor Show. That year, FPV had unveiled the Black Edition Concept, and with Alan being the FPV brand ambassador, he was present on the Ford/FPV stand to help promote it.

As was usual, Saturday's were the busiest day of the show and the place was packed. And yet, as I walked onto the Ford stand, there was this old man standing over behind a counter with no one around. I'm like, OMG, that's Allan Moffat..............no one else knew who he was. Being all by himself, I decided to walk up and say hello. He went on to sign a Black Edition Poster, then complimented me on my then brand-new Nikon camera, to which I was quite star struck. He was so polite, a true gentleman. I thanked him and left him alone, but I still wonder if anyone as young as I was eventually figured out who he was.

Are the wheels 20"?

If so I reckon lowering wouldn't be required to improve stance (something I've tossing up in my mind)

So this is where we politely say “well it’s your car and you can do whatever you want”. :cwl: Seriously D, obviously not my thing but it is striking and certainly stands out.:like:

Ok, so I haven't put white wheels on the car.

It's a running gag I have with a guy online. I post a pic of one of my cars and he suggests it would look better with white wheels, he posts a pic and I suggest he should consider white wheels. In this case, he went one better and photoshopped white wheels on my car. I think it's his clever way of having a laugh at people who actually think white wheels look good and how it ruins an otherwise attractive vehicle.
