So I have taken my GT in 5 times now for dash rattles, and to my surprise, they still can't resolve them. So today I decided to take the car to the states most highly recommended (also the dealer I ordered the car through) dealership because their service center is usually fantastic. Now I live an hour away, thus why I haven't brought it here sooner. Anyhow, I had a tech ride with me to listen, at 35mph and above there's a metal shuttering/wind noise on the passenger side dash, he heard it which was a relief because I've had a few techs say they can't hear it. He goes inside after the drive and pulls the previous records from the other dealership, and then him and the Service manager pull me aside and explain that at this point it needs to be seen by a Ford Engineer. So they are going to call their contact that works directly from FRAP and have him come look at the car to try and figure out what is happening and come up with a solution or fix. I'm honestly shocked they didn't try to run me around or attempt a fix themselves first. They said it can be a week to a few months depending on how in depth this has to go, and if it can't be resolved or the repair gets too extensive they may initiate a buy back. Fingers crossed 🤞 that they just fix it, love my job 1 GT. 7,100 miles and no issues besides this damn rattle.

You'll have to put all the factory equipment back on before the head guy looks at it or he'll void your warranty

It's done been dropped off, manager and tech both said that it won't matter as the mods aren't a direct cause of the dash rattle since it's been that way since shortly after I got the car.

Possibly a "few months" to fix a rattle. Really?

I know, it was a joke, haha.

What are they letting you drive while they have it?

"Could take a few months to dig in and find the root issue". I don't believe that's going to be the case but who knows, I just want it fixed.

Currently my lamborfeeties as they don't have any loaners, I'm an hour away from home and have been waiting an hour for them to take me home...

Oh and I work 3rd shift, finished a 12hr shift before I drove the hour here, just waiting. At least they have nice seating outside whilst I wait 😅

Fuck that, if they are keeping your car until an engineer shows up, They need to give you something to drive. That's b.s.

Yeah, field engineers, I think there is only a couple in each market that travel around to dealerships for this sort of thing. Usually get called in when the dealer or Ford service hotline can't find a solution.

Update, they are having me drive my car home to drop me off and having the service manager ride with me so that he can drive it back to the dealer. I have a truck as well so no biggie on transport, I just needed to get home lol

As long as you've got something, good!

I've seen them show up in a couple days to a month. Hoping it's next week and a solution!!!

You realize you bought a Ford right? lol I hope you get the issue fixed but rattles and creaks happen.

All that stress hoping an engineer will fix a noise that will probably come back in a year or two due to normal age of a vehicle when you could be enjoying that awesome 12 speaker sound system in the 401A package; or if ya cheaped out and didn't get that you could be enjoying the glorious noise of the engine/exhaust.

Best of luck, hopefully you can still enjoy the car in the meantime with summer weather quickly approaching.

I'm aware, I have a 301A so good speakers as well. Just hit 7100 miles on the dash and have enjoyed the car a lot. This rattle it's in for and has been 5 times now, it gets increasingly louder with speed. It used to only show when you'd be cruising at 70-80mph but now it starts at 25mph. As much as I can turn the volume up or have windows down and listen to the coyote sing, it's starting to be able to be heard over the radio. I dread windows up because it's gotten so loud that I have to have the volume at 20 to not hear it and even then, if I'm doin 80 on the interstate, I can still hear it. So I definitely have a buffer of allowance as there's a few rattles elsewhere I don't mind as it is a mustang and is expected, it's just this one has gotten too bad to just ignore anymore.
