Does anybody think that the sport mode is slightly louder and more "burbly" than track mode? I have had mine for a while and I keep it in sport because every time i switch to track I actually think it gets a little deeper and quieter. I have looked at the valves and made sure they are doing what they are supposed to do. Just an observation and am curious what others think.

I notice only a slight difference between sport and track. I agree - it does seem like the tone deepens, and the overall “feel” of the exhaust is different when going to track mode (if that makes sense).

I think both sound great :). I enjoy the “sport” setting so much sometimes I just go to track mode to change it up a bit…

My audible experience is slightly different. To me, sport mode sounds like normal mode except with more low end rumble. Track mode just sounds louder all the way around. The mode I drive around in varies based on who's in the car with me. Just me, its normal or sport. My wife's in the car, it's normal or quiet. My son's in the car: DAD PUT IT IN TRACK MODE! Both my wife and my son in the car... argument ensues....

I agree,
Putting the exhaust is sport mode seems louder/better to me than track mode.
The sport mode has more of a rumble to the exhaust tone than the track mode.
This being said, I have not done a pedal to the metal test between the two, just idle blips and from casual driving.
It seems to me that the exhaust valves are wide open and there is not much personality to the exhaust sound.

Are you guys running the 6-speed manual or automatic transmission? I suspect how aggressively you drive will alter the experience. I have the automatic transmission (long story, but I regret not getting the manual) and feel that track mode is louder but mainly because it runs at higher RPMs before shifting where sport mode shifts to higher gears sooner.

That's my experience, of course. If you're running an automatic perhaps compare them using the paddle shifters...

Track mode definitely sounds like a lower tone to me. I think there is a bit more gurgling and popping in track mode. Yesterday, I heard a double sound I don't think I've heard before. I want all the sound I can get! Glenn

Best combo for the "scene" is sport mode (as driving mode) and track mode for the exhaust (fully open), this is true for both manuale and AT, S550 and S650.
Sport mode has a different ignition mapping (you'll have more burbling and popping).
