For those of you living in town with a steep driveway what have you used to help at the end to get the car in. Purchased a DH yesterday and even coming at an angle I scrape.

The incline on my driveway is moderate. There's a transition, a lip, where the road gutter meets the driveway. I flop into that. I come in at a low speed and let the car roll into and rest against the transition. Then crawl up and across. Same as you: at an angle. I realize you might have an entrance which is more steep.

"Yellow Jackets" are a product you might have seen before; they allow someone to lay cables through them, then drive over without damage. Having something like this laying across the driveway entrance might help. Something as simple as a 2x4 or two in the right place, might make it smoother. Depending on the situation, you could leave them in-place or gather them up at the end of the day.

Edit,

I haven't studied the DH's, but on the Mach, the lower half of the splitter can be removed. That might be another option. It changes the aero and apperance, but might get you the clearance you need.

Yet another option is a tire with a taller profile. I'm using 285/35/19 All-season tires, so I can drive year-round on one set. These are a tick taller than the factory's. I am using aftermarket rims, 19x10. I was accessing the driveway fine on the factory's. I changed the tires/rims to protect the original rims while giving me the chance to drive the car at any temp.

Maybe buy a new bottom lip and keep it in the garage and just let the original scrape. Kind of like winter tires.

I had this issue with a gt350. I repoured part of the driveway. Did not fully resolve it. The dh doesn't scrape though.

Would backing in eliminate the problem?

If you are hitting because of the curb try bridgit curb ramp. They are a little pricey but you can find them on marketplace. https://www.bridjit.com/

Scraping wont hurt it, unless you have the handling pack lip i have seen people break those easy. The base lip and gt pp lip dont seem to mind.

I have a slight dip, then an slope "up" - I knew BEFORE I bought my Mustang, it was VERY close, but it did not scrape. I drove the car home during a test drive to check the clearance. I did the same thing before buying my '24 F-250 to be sure it would fit in my garage (these trucks are very tall). I would consider trimming / removing the offending piece or just live with it.

I have a GT with performance package, with a steep driveway and a big curb to go over coming in. Because of that I enter at an angle with no issues of scraping.

My wife's Lincoln MKZ would scrape backing out if we went straight and had back seat passengers. Her new Cadillac CT5 so far seems to clear it.

Search “driveway ramps” & you’ll get a bunch of options. Many on Amazon. Good luck.

I have a very flat driveway that crosses thru a sidewalk, I barely clear pulling out nose first and have to be careful. I don’t have to be careful pulling nose in or backing out.

Is that the height of your front splitter when you drive around normally? Or do you only take it to the track? I'm not sure I could drive on ANY street in Seattle and not destroy my front end with your setup.

Edit: maybe this is a pic just of when you're exiting your driveway?

Correct, this is only when I pull out of my driveway.
