looks like you have a P0430 code, Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2. the dealer will end up needing the vehicle for a day or two to do the workshop manual tests and find the cause. could be anything from a loose connector to needing a new catalytic converter

you will probably just have some poor fuel economy and slightly reduced power while driving. however, if there is a hissing sound from the exhaust along with a lack of power and slow revving, do not drive it, because that means there is a plugged cat and that can be a fire risk

Car is at the dealer and it was determined it needs a replacement catalytic converter.

i recently had the same P0430 code, and it needed a cat and cylinder head due to a leaking valve guide seal. let me know if the same thing ends up being true for you too, because that would be very, very interesting

Thanks for sharing this… Hopefully they have some kind of standard testing they do for it. Now I’m hoping they don’t just throw parts at it. Did your check engine light stay on? Mine would come and go randomly.

mine would also come and go randomly. clear the code and it would be gone for a few minutes to up to a couple days. if you are having the same issue i had, the dealer will know because one of the exhaust ports will be very dark

I’ll give them a call Monday and ask them to check. Do you drive yours daily? The light would be on for a few drives and then go away for a few. I don’t drive daily though so maybe it went off for extended periods because of that.

yep, mine is a daily driver with ~19.5k miles at the time of the issue

I spoke to the service advisor this morning and asked it to be checked. Got a call back a little bit ago and was told everything else looks fine. I guess we’ll find out if they really checked it when I get it back.
