I have a 2025 ecoboost convertible.
I ordered the low profile jacking rails.
after receiving them I realized I would need to trim the bottom pad at the anchor points.
I have mixed feelings about cutting them out to do this installation.
Has anyone done this and is it worth doing? Any downsides to this?
Thanks.

I have the full length jacking rails on.
Trimming the pad isn't that bad. It's easily accomplished with just a utility knife and the amount that needs to be trimmed off is only about 2" by 1".

What I wasn't very thrilled about was having to remove most of the screws along the inside of each seam that fasten the pad to the underside of the body to get the rails even remotely close to being flush with the seam. Once the rails are bolted tight they appear to hold the pad pretty well, but its the thought of not actually having anything there securing it that bugs me.

The other downside, that I see, is that the jacking rails do not sit flat against the underside of the car.
They are tilted on the bottom, in towards the center of the vehicle.
Apparently Steeda is now offering a kit that is supposed to help with this, but it comes with an additional cost if they weren't included with the rails when you received them.

All in all, they do do the job that they were intended for and they do provide a little piece of mind that the seam isn't going to be damaged.
I just wish that, for the price, they had fit a lot better than they do.

I am looking at some Steeda rails too. I called, they said for the GT, no trimming required.

My question is, are there any rails that will allow the continued use of the factory ( pinch seam) jack? Or do we need to get a different jack (or adapter) for roadside use? Would a shorter rail allow the use of the factory jack and are their shorter rails.

@m gunter ..... I do not believe the jacking rails will work on a convertible as they are not compatible with the factory frame stiffening rails that start at/under the trunk area and run forward to each side of the underbody. I would recommend you contact Steeda before purchasing.

The convertible has a different part number on the Steeda site. Oddly, the convertible version comes with the spacers and the coupe version says

" Note: S650 Models require the optional spacer kit to ensure jacking rails are level.

The pictures on the vert version also show the spacers where the coupe version pictures do not.

Translation, we know there is a problem with our product not working/aligning properly on the s650 as we are just reusing the s550 rails and do not want to update the product with the proper equipment to fit the rails to the car as they should be aligned unless you pay us more.

......and I have heard that the s550 style rails conflict with the factory frame rails on the convertible. I have a 2024 GT and I do not believe the s550 style rails would fit it properly read that safely.

Hey Guys,

Seeing as we don't have any pictures up on what the Spacer Kits look like for the 24+ Mustangs,
I'd thought I'd jump in and help.

As you can see from the images, The spacer kit is a bit different from the Convertibles to the 24+ Coupes.

You don't technically need the spacer.

Our Jacking rail bolts up perfectly fine on the S650.
What you will see on the S650 is the front of the rail will protrude an 1/8 past the pinch point, and the rear will be flush, and this is caused due to the frame being slightly different than the S550.

The 555 5213 slips in and makes it so the rear protrude the same amount as the front.

The Full length on a S650 without the spacer is like having a hybrid of the full length and Low profile.:)
