You.. I had the Bullitt for 5 years and didn't spotted ONE during the whole 5 years driving between Italy and Spain (while in Italy was a limited serie: only 68 registered and sold). :inspect:

It might be fair to assume a fresh model, free from COVID-related supply constraints and prior to any talk of tariffs, might have ha da boom year like they did in 2016, but it seems not.

I will concede, the landscape for selling ICE cars has changed vastly since 2016 in UK and much of Europe, and the import numbers are lower to reflect that, but the fact they're sitting at dealers suggests that lack of supply isn't wooing the market like I thought it might (particularly for the Dark Horse). ...
Cars were late, dealers had sparse info as to what was going on which cost them sales. I suspect a good chunk of the cars sat around now are those that were ordered back in February'24 and then buyers found something else before it was delivered.
'24 sales numbers will be bad because they were only available to drive away in the final 4 months of the year.

And now the new car tax on it has doubled it's compounded the other issue, the price.

2016 was a good year because it was finally available in RHD, there would of been a lot of pent up demand and when it arrived it didn't cost much more than a top spec focus / golf R.

Starting at £34k it was back then a bargain, but the price creep has been insane.
The bullet costing in the late 40's was a hard sell, although thanks to covid they held there price for several years. In '23 used bullet's were listed for more than they cost new.

The mach1 costing low 50's again was getting costly. But again it held it's price used.

The base '24GT starting at more than a mach1 at £55k was going to be a tough sell and now that it's at least £59k for any colour other than white it's a really hard sell over a mach1 let alone and older base gt.

and the dark horse is now £71k up from £65k a year ago .. is it really worth nearly £20k more than a mach1 was new ?

The problem with the price creep is the competition (although they have also gone up a lot in price) it's gone from being a rival on price to a golf / focus to an M2/C43 etc.

I brought mine because it's pretty much the last chance to own one new before they're all gone.

Hopefully the over supply will dry up, and the demand will remain for the last chance to own a v8 will keep used prices up and i'll be able to trade it for a C63s, nobody wants those so they're prices are tanking and it's a much more exhilarating car to drive. (over 1000nm of torque through 4wd, it really shifts)

Price is not the problem.

Just look at all new car prices - a Kuga can be well over £43k plus options now.

I paid less than £60k for my GT.

Seems pretty good value to me.

Car prices have been climbing across the board since 2020. Take the Yaris GR, for example, which started at less than £30k in early 2021.

Four years on, and only very lightly facelifted, the start price is £46k. Even if I take into consideration that the circuit pack is now standard and say it's gone from £33k to 46k in four years, that's still a 40% price increase! There's also now a special edition called the OGIER, which is £61k.

We live in a world where Toyota Yaris, albeit a highly modified pseudo-homologation special, is at the price point we all remember an M5 being. Inflation messes with the mind.

New car sales are down significantly across the board though. Even at just under 60k that's a near 50% increase on a '22gt.
My car was the most expensive ford my dealer / dealership had ever sold new.

My 2019 GT with options was £48k list. My 2024 GT was £60k list.

£12k increase in 6 years is not 50%

Finally saw a Gen7 on the road today coming the other way on a private plate.
Was a vapour blue GT with K3 something or other plate.
I was in the merc so didn't have it recorded on dash cam.

Also £48k for a 2019 ? are the options like for like ? as from what i looked up a 2019GT was £42.8k OTR and a bullit was £48.2k
I'd looked up a end of the line '22 and they were low 40's for a GT and low 50's for a Mach1

On ford's availability checker they're showing 152 cars arriving in late July / early august including 14 dark horses. Oh what a difference a year makes.

Yes like for like as near as possible. My S550 had Auto box, Magneride, Custom Pack 4 (which had the forged wheels) and Magnetic paint. List price was £48705 in March 2019.

Must be a rare sight, indeed. I have some family in the UK since the past several decades. I visit once in awhile.
There are about 10k Mustangs in total in the UK, mostly S550, so rare, but you do see them about. A few hundred S650 so far are indeed rare.

When I had the Bullitt, 68 were sold in Italy (limited), enough to say, I've never meet another one in five years. :D
As for the S650, never meet one yet (8 months), nor a DH nor a GT.
Worth to say that I live in Spain, but often driving in Italy (my origin country), and the Italian taxation on hi-HP cars is crazy enough to not have a market at all (Ferrari and such, with Italian license plates aren't rare, but they belongs to wealthy chaps, while a Mustang costs less than a BMW).

I keep thinking I'll bump into (not literally!) Greg one day as we both live in Wiltshire, but it's a big county and the chances are I'd be buzzing around in my little Suzuki anyway.
