Hi,
Im pretty new to the whole Mustang community. Im from Germany and own a S650 Dark Horse 6 Speed Tremec since two weeks. Sorry if my English isnt perfect.
Im now at 1000 Miles and did my first oilchange today. I have a whisteling noise during medium to heavy load at acceleration starting at around 2500rpm and dissapearing at about 4000-4500 rpm from day 1 . To me it sounds simmilar to a Turbo spinning up (high pitch upscaling whistle). Im only able to hear it if my window ist opened. I think the whistle is coming from the transmission, because i never heard it when reving stationary or am i wrong ? Does anyone have a simmilar issue or maybe even a solution to this ? im really concerned somthing is nor right. I Had it at the Dealership today, they told me they can hear it, but have no clue what it could be. They dont have that much of experience with Mustangs and American Cars (as all German Dealerships dont do), because in Germany they are pretty rare vehicles and the Mechanics seem to be a bit lost on that type of Cars.
Hopefully some of you guys have more experience and can help me out. Maybe its state of the art ?

It’s your throttle body actuators at tip in

they’re like servo motors, that’s what they sound like to me anyways

Hi, I'm Italian and I sent my new DH to them to serialize and install the Steeda Q767 components. If it's not too far from you I suggest you call them and go visit them! In the Mustang field they are the best!!

Correct me if im wrong, but the actuators just Set the Position of the throttle or am i mistaken ? how can they make a noise like something is Charging up ? Like this high pitch whistle ?

2 Throttle bodies and 2 separate motors

so depending on their input you’ll get varying noise from them…

if you just floor it you’ll only hear them open the once…they also operate out of sync depending on air load demands

if anything you have very sensitive ears, most wouldn’t really notice the pitch

I dont have cooled seats (recaros). Also the Sound is only noticable at open Windows. So if i understand correctly you assume its the Sound of the airflow trough the throttle bodies during heavd load depending on throttle Position? To me it sounds like a bearing spinning up. I did some more Testing: if i run throug the rpm band with low load (really slow accellerstion) i dont get the whistle. Only on medium to heavy load i have the whistle between 2500 running up to 4000. If i put my foot off the gas, it will immediately stop (even if in the range between 2500 and 4000) it only occurs on harder Medium to heavy load. Trough the acceleration and work trhough the rpm Band it Sounds like something is spooling up (pitch going from low to high tone) really simmilar to a turbocharger kicking in.

I have a tremic DH in Australia, and can get the same noise by hard blipping the throttle in neutral with the bonnet open (really noticeable), the first part of the noise is near identical to SC induction.......still there while rolling, just seems slightly muffled, after 5000rpm the exhaust note takes over........but was noticed by another driver while on a street cruise through the Gold Coast the other night, they commented they love the deep SC noise/induction without the whine at mid range revs when accelerating from a standing start - showed him no SC, loved it even more

I was surprised how different the DH sounded when driving with other Mustangs, not sure if I want to change the exhaust now. The exhaust and nice little induction noises really stood out.

Just check that the air intakes are all as they should be and filter housing lids are sealed - when I took delivery of my DH the Driver's side hosing between the bumper and filter housing was not aligned correctly, took all of 10 sec to align and not pushed in on itself, that could be causing a louder induction noise as well.
