Rental, driver door window index intermittent

Have a rental that when the roof is up, most of the time when closing the drivers door the window does not index and cinch up. This creates massive wind noise at speed. The dic believes the door is shut when it doesn't index... and sometimes opening and closing the door several times gets it to index and seal. Is there a quick solution for this?

Try holding the window switch in the up position for 5-10 seconds after it’s fully closed

I did, what's odd is it works sometimes leading me to believe the initialization is correct but some sensor is not being satisfied.

I just open and close the door 30x while driving and usually it decides to index.

Engine feels like it's going to fall out when starting as well, I hope nobody ever purchases a rental car.
