Dug into a few projects over the last week. Installed an Escort Redline 360c with a blend mount and a mirror tap first. We have two other FoMoCo products. A 23 F250 and a 24 Lincoln Nautilus. The Mustang must pack the same tech behind the mirror. Speed limit cam, rain sensor, high beam sensor, etc. But yet the Mustang is throwing more electronic interference. When I tucked the radar nice and tight under the mirror it refused to pick up GPS. Had to drop it almost an inch to ugly level and it still glitches from time to time. Odd....
Moved on to the "sub" in the B&O system. There are plenty of threads on this including the great one about the Pioneer that is a drop in. I decided to go further. Had my local shop install a Hertz mps250s2 after adding some poly fill and wrapping the inside and outside of the rear with Dynamat. Driving that is an Audison SR 1.500 amp with a Wavetech Linq DQ line out converter. The factory plastic box is not at all inadequate like most. It's very stout which was surprising after upgrading many Ford subs over the years. This setup came out OUTSTANDING. I can't believe the bass output from the Hertz driver... well... it better for the price of it. But really. The design of this shallow mount sub allowing such tremendous excursion is just unreal. And it's not even broken in yet. For anyone looking to upgrade your bass without loosing trunk space, this it the ticket.
