Pre trade in parts swap

Hello, I really don't like that all new Mustangs come with the nite-pony blacked out headlights. I have a 24 EB but plan on upgrading to a GT soon.

Is it possible to take out my chrome trimmed 2024 EcoBoost headlights, swap in some eBay replacements, and have the chrome trimmed set ready to put in the new GT?

I would prefer, if possible, to do this myself instead of paying dealership labor costs.

Asking because I know these modern cars are sensitive when it comes to electronics.

Also, can the GT badge on the trunk be swapped out for the pony without replacing the entire trunk lid?

Just buy the GT without the blackout package. Also, if you have no choice, I’m sure someone will be willing to swap or sell you their chrome headlights. I have the chrome headlights and would prefer the blackout version.

You can remove the rear emblem(s) using a bit of dental floss to cut through the 3M double-sided emblem tape (VHB®). What is left will clean up easily using Prepsol®.

To reinstall them, you can buy VHB® from Amazon in various widths. Trimming is best done with an X-Acto blade. Incidentally, I've tried to buy just the precut tape for the pony emblem, but they (Ford) do not sell it as a separate item.

PS: The 3M part number 4910. VHB stands for very hard bond.

You want it? I have it for the decklid emblem. It came with the Air Design taillight blackout panel I bought from Ford, and I have no use for it.

Just buy the GT without the blackout package.

I wish it were that easy. All new Mustangs come with "blackout" headlights no matter what package you order.
