I am looking for a free elm327 app to diagnose a miss fire dtc. I just need it for a one time problem. Do any of you know of one? At one time there were many.

any C.E.L. illumination?

No mechanic friends with a good bi-directional scanner?

If no P030X code, go into mode 6 and look at misfire counts

Look at fuel trims to see if there is a demand for extra fuel (vac leak) or pulling fuel out (stuck injector)

Believe it or not those Harbor Freight ICON T7 scanners are a pretty good bang for the buck

Don't do what I did and think you need to force the connection. The cheap plastic brackets snap very easily around the connector. Still have to hang it in there, but didn't realize I was making a clean connection first time I plugged it in.
