I ordered an Atlas blue S550 Mustang GT, auto with Magneride on 17 January 2022. After waiting for this car for months, it ended up never being built because they stopped S550 production in preparation for the S650's.
The day after the reveal of the S650 which I watched live via Youtube, I went into the dealer and ordered two cars. They didn't have prices yet, so I ordered a S650 GT and Dark Horse, both with "subject to pricing" in the contracts. This was on 16 September 2022.
By 27 October 2023, I was able to get pricing locked in and I decided to proceed with the Dark Horse order, and cancelled the S650 GT order.
My Dark Horse was built and left the factory (Assembly offline, Gate release) on 27 June 2024.
The car arrived at Baltimore (compound entry) on 11 July 2024.
On 11 September 2024, I had notification from Ford that my car had shipped. It was on the Tysla, and had left Baltimore for Australia. The Tysla docked in Fremantle on 4 November 2024.
My car showed up at the dealer on 12 November 2024.
Unfortunately, I cant take delivery yet seeing my car is caught up in the 24C35 recall which has caused a delivery halt until Ford can fix the car with a software update. I hope and pray this happens sooner than the generic Q1 2025 ETA Ford has given me.
As you can see, I'm probably the most patient but cursed Mustang fan on the planet.
After hearing about the recall, I was so deflated that I didn't even want to see the car. I was worried I might be a little hard on the dealer and I know it really isnt their fault and they want to get the car into my hands almost and much as I do. I would have probably throttled anyone with a Ford logo on their shirt that first day I heard the news.
Luckily that deflated feeling has now passed with my excitement slowly returning. I just went and saw my car for the very first time. Its an emotional experience I have to say. I feel like I've been through so much with this car already, and yet I've only just laid eyes on it now for the very first time.
She's a little dirty and dusty from the trip, but overall she's awesome! Love the color. Love the interior. Love the different gauges. Love the Recaro seats. Love the titanium shift knob. Love the short throws of the Tremec. Love the big black exhaust tips. Love the massive Brembo's. I just love love love this car!
Arranged with MADinc who will pick up the car on a flatbed and start the detailing and PPF process while we wait for this fix. Huge shoutout to those guys. They have been super helpful and so flexible to arrange all of this during the uncertainty of delivery times and delays.
Come on Ford!!!! Get this recall over so I can get my car! So close!
