This is my first convertible, so I’ve been reading lots of info on top care. One of the big care recommendations is to never put the top down wet or dirty. So, I bought an extra soft top brush to throw in the car for those times that a little something gets on the top while I’m out and about. Then I got to thinking about bugs on the windshield, paint, bird stuff, and more substantial deposits on the paint or top. Well, one thing led to another and I built this little “kit”.
Bought some little pump spray bottles on Amazon and filled them with the more common cleaning stuff. Didn’t want them laying down (would probably leak), so I fired up Alibre and designed a holder to keep the bottles upright. I also wanted them to fit in a shaving bag that can sit in the trunk spare tire area. Of course, I needed microfiber towels and regular paper towels too.
Paper towels in a zip lock bag and 6 microfiber towels in an old (really old) laptop bag. Put it all together and it all fits great in the spare tire area with no rattles or fear of cleaning supplies tipping over. Plus, I have full use of the trunk.
Probably won’t use it much, but if I’m out of town or away from the house, I can quickly spot clean, as the world and nature do what they do.
