I have a GT manual with the memory option. I have the easy entry feature activated so it moves the seat back when I turn the vehicle off. That part works great. Profile one is also paired with my key. I’ve found that when I start the vehicle the seat begins to move then stops. I have to either press the 1 button on the door to get to my correct seating position or if I put the car in accessory mode it will move the seat to the correct position.

Anyone have insight on why it won’t go to correct position during startup?

So it automatically starts then stops and after you push the button it starts again?

by chance have you tried disabling the easy entry/exit as a test?

When starting the car I put my foot on the brake, clutch in, move the gear selector to neutral, then press the engine start button. When I do this, the seat will move slightly for a second then stops.

If I press the 1 button on the door the seat will move to the correct position. If I just push the engine start button without hitting brake or clutch to go into accessory mode the seat will move to the proper position.

if I disable the easy access feature it’s a moot point as the seat is already in the correct position from the last trip.

Is easy entry exit a position or a setting? As in is it set to easy your preset distance back and return to a spot or does it use a preset stop back (exit) setting and just go in as far as detected profile (oops grabbed the wrong key lucky me squeeze the wheel when wife is shorter).

The exit point cannot be adjusted. From what I can tell it just slides the seat back to its farthest setting without moving the height. When it works properly (when putting into accessory mode for example) it will slide to the position assigned to the memory setting for the key in the vehicle.

I am wondering if it does not like the clutch or brake petal being pressed on startup and has a failsafe that is stopping the seat short. Can’t really test it otherwise as that should be how anyone would start the car.

Mine does the same thing it is probably in the body control module because on my truck easy exit also moves the pedals and so the fact your foot is on a pedal to start the stick, The system is going, Oh wait a minute we can’t finish this. it might also just be That all motion stops because the car is using power to crank and all non-important things like the radio, AC, and seat stop using power until car is cranked. I have not tested if convertible top stops or not while cranking. I will try in a few.

My 401A does the same thing. It did it today. As you said, I just push the #1 button, and it completes. I think it is just another glitch in the software because I have other issues that periodically poke their heads up just to keep me on my toes. All we can do is hope Ford will correct these issues as they find them. Glenn
