I’ve been looking at all the axleback options for my gt premium and MBRP seems to be the cheaper side of the market. I already have a steeda h-pipe and i would like a little more sound. Anybody running/considering MBRP?

I imagine that'll be extremely loud because it has no muffler and you already have an H pipe so it would basically be a straight pipe system

That’s what i was thinking. I contacted MBRP via email and they explained that although this will fit an active exhaust car, it doesnt retain the active feature. No biggie, just want to make sure it doesnt pop a CEL

A coworker just installed this same system with a double h pipe on his car last week. The quality of the sound is excellent but the volume is way more than I would care for. There's another poster stated it is basically straight piped and loud as hell. The quality of the product was excellent as was the fit. Everybody's tolerance for volume is different but I can tell you if you go to work early in the morning the neighbors will get up a petition on your ass!

Thank you for the feedback! I live in an apartment complex but there is a handful of loud cars all around (scatpack with no cats, gt350, and of course all the lifted trucks) My main cconcern would be getting a CEL after install, but it looks like the actuator plate prevents that.

I've ran similar on a S550 and I'd assume the sound profile is close enough for me to draw an opinion on it. It's definitely loud, is drone an issue for you?

I'm assuming non active as it was linked the non-active?

Drone doesnt bother me at all, I contacted mbrp and they said it wont retain the active functionality. I dont care if it does as i mainly drive in track mode anyway. Do you have any thoughts/opinions/concerns/advice?

Personally, active exhaust is a huge plus, but that's entirely subjective. I enjoyed the ability to start the car in quiet mode and felt my longer highway drives were more enjoyable without the undertone of drone.

Exhaust is so up to the end users taste that it's tough to give anything other my own opinion. I personally lean more towards muffled exhausts like AWE, Corsa sports (in this case, the active), Borla, etc over a muffler delete.

If you establish a budget and what you're looking for in an exhaust, it gives you a good starting point. If you're wanting to delete the active exhaust, that also gives you a start.

The problem you may run into is that the active exhaust cars have the quad tip setup and if going non-active, you'll have to consider 18-23 exhaust kits over 24+ (unless they make a specific delete kit).

Feel free to send me a PM, I'll help out the most I can.

Update: Axleback system has been ordered is supposed to be here monday. I’ve only ever wrenched on lifted trucks (never installed any exhaust), so this is a little out my realm but who doesnt love a challenge? 🤣 I’ve looked all over youtube for an install video… to no avail. Any tips/advice on installing an axleback would be appreciated, cant wait to hear how it sounds

Thanks for your order! We really appreciate it. Looks like Monday is the day it will be delivered.

For the install it really isn't too difficult. Just make sure to take your time and follow the instructions on how to measure and cut the axle pipes.

Here's a link to the instructions which should help give you an idea what you're going to have to do for the installation.

As always if you have any questions please feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email to [email protected].

Thanks!

Finally got it installed and super satisfied. I won’t lie it is piss off your neighbors loud, but the gt350 that lives by me is still louder (i have to find the owner and ask his setup LOL). For a little under $400 on LP website with loyalty pricing, you cant beat it!
