I will. I’m not sure if you were retaining all the actual ford parts - struts/springs/etc because they mentioned that they can’t validate the wheels will fit if using anyone else’s suspension components

Where exactly were yours rubbing? And when? On the inside- was it a wheel lock issue or did it rub when just moving straight? What were your alignment settings? What tires were you running? And was it hitting the tires or the wheels?

I have Factory MagneRide struts on my PP but am using Ford Performance Track Sway Bars, and Springs. I was using 1.21 degrees as specified in the owner's manual for the dark horse street setup. The Interference was with the strut tower itself using MP4S tires.

Another member with regular PP @Joe_Cool was able to get the wheels bolted but had rub on turn:

The front PP wheel is ET45, since then based on my measurements with this issue, I went 35 on wider wheels without issue.

Wouldn't a small spacer have fixed that?
Yes, as I mentioned in my previous comment about the wheels, you would need a spacer with this setup. Cosmetically it's fine, however, as someone who tracks their vehicle you do not want this.

Yeah I’m thinking a small spacer and if needed wheel turn / steering locks like these:

I’m not sure why you don’t want spacers if you track your car- hell even the ford racing team uses spacers on the Dark Horse R they race.

🤷

It's not that simple, unfortunately. You will want 10MM of additional spacing to help those wheels fit.

This, as in spacers?

Lots of guys tracking their vehicles with 24-26mm spacers up front to run the same backspace front and rear (52) with 11 inch wheels and 305 or 315 squared set up so that they can rotate tires. Some claim that they get an additional track day or even 2 out of doing this.

This is how far the Mach 1 wheels stuck out on stock performance package suspension. It was too much for my liking so I sold them for a set of 20” HRE FF10’s. The HRE’s are similar in style but have a better fitment in relation to the car’s recommended offset. Going the route of adding a spacer with the mach 1 wheels will make them stick out quite a bit in the front, so be sure that is the look you are going for since there is no way to bring the wheel inward.

That looks great to me - so if that’s how it will look- I’ll be extremely happy. All you need to do to hide that is use the dark horse style wheel liners …

My mind was made up after driving the Dark Horse Handling Package cars at Charlotte Motor Speedway for an entire afternoon lap after lap after lap.

They even used the Michelin PS4S tires - both my wife and I absolutely loved how they handled. We even got cold tire pressure and how they were aligned (alignment specs) from the techs while we were there!

didn’t have the power of ours (FP Whipple), but oh how they handled.

so if that’s is the only downside- ours is absolutely not a daily driver. She has 6700 miles on her in a year.

that will be just fine with us :)

@Stanzi -

I had a Mach 1 whith those wheels. They do poke out of the front fenders on a Mach 1. Thats why ford used the fender guards. But its purely asthetic and not functional. I actually took my fender guards off and used a 285 tires because I liked the look (see pic below). Also, camber plates have nothing to do with those wheels. You dont need them unless you lower the car or just want more camber adjustment.

As for the fitment, forgive me if I missed it, bit have you confirmed the backspacing is different from the DH HP wheels? If not, I cant imagine any reason why they wouldn't work.

They are identical in size offset and backspacing to every 10.5 inch wide front wheel Ford makes including the Dark Horse at +24 offset and 6.69inch backspacing - also identical to LMR’ SVE DHP1’s size backspacing and offset.

I am lowering them with the new Ford Performance Track Springs M-5300-S65T and the struts / shocks are the Ford Racing M-18000-F whose packaging is specifically designed around the same size wheel package - those are from the FP800S package!
