Can anyone help me figure out this problem, whenever I keep pumping gas, the filler would just stop after a few seconds, thinking that my thank is full. Happened at 3/4 stations I went to. Also, found out that if I turned the filler upside-down then problem went away.

This is a new DH. Just want to get some ideas as whats wrong before I go to the dealer for warranty work. Is it a filler issue or Ford issue? I read that alot of places in NYC uses old fillers that is not compatible with the newer fords

I've run into. It usually works if you use a slower fill rate.

Hard to say for sure. I've has success slowing the fill rate as the previous poster said.

Could be a problem with the station pump nozzles if equipped with a vapor recovery system. You stated that turning the fill nozzle upside down works. I'm pretty sure doing this defeats the pump nozzle vapory recovery system. Next time you fill up take note if you see any signs with an X through a picture of the nozzle upside down. Not saying this will work but worth a try. Next fill up be sure to insert the nozzle as far as possible into the fuel neck on the car. Not doing so can also cause the symptoms you described including nothing at all coming out.

I'm guessing it's the filler nozzle that's the problem. If you turn it upside down and it works it tells me the nozzles mechanism to shut the pump off when it's full and by doing this your bypassing that function. I live on the west coast of Canada and have had no problems filling my DH but I only go to Chevron.
