Hello, been a Mustang guy for a lot of years. Had some of the classic years, 68 289 & 71 302, still have 72 Mach I 351C project car. Did the fox years with an 88 hatchback and 90 convertible with the 5.0s and then into the next decade with the 94 GT and 99 SVT Cobra The last Mustang I bought was a new 2003 Cobra and just jumped back into the Mustang world with this 2024 GT over the weekend. Look forward to see what is new with this generation of Mustang and hopefully can contribute with my previous experiences.

2024 Ecoboost Premium
Hello -- I am about as much a Mustang novice as you'll find in this forum. Total days of Mustang ownership in my life: 1. Today, I acquired a 2024 EcoBoost Premium in Carbonized Gray Metallic with Black Onyx leather, the 201A package, and 19" wheels.

This is the first used car I've ever bought in my life, and only the second two-door. I have mostly focused on sedans and then small to mid-size SUVs. (My current regular ride is a Kia Telluride SXP.) Buying a Mustang was a rather quick-turnaround decision. I was having a casual conversation with my nephew about past vehicles I'd owned, and he asked whether I'd ever had an outright sports/muscle car. I replied that I had not, but that if I ever did, it would probably be a Mustang, since that had been one of my favorite cars since I was a kid. Later that day, I thought, why not? A couple of weeks later, here I am.

The EcoBoost was an easy choice because I have no plans for racing and don't otherwise feel any need for a V8. The Mustang's appeal for me is its heritage, style, and general sportiness, not track times. And I've always liked forced-induction engines. My first car was a Mazda MX-6 GT with a 2.2 liter turbo, a feisty powerplant for its day that blew away the era's Hondas, Acuras, etc. I had a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with a supercharged six that was a lot of fun, and a Jeep Cherokee with a 2.0 turbo that made 270 hp and 295 lb.-ft. Most importantly, I had a Ford Ecape with a little brother of my Mustang's engine, a 2.0 EcoBoost. I enjoyed that one a lot, so I figured that the 2.3 would be a perfect fit. Happy to be here.

Edit: I added a photo.

Thoughts and Stories from Khal Drogo’s Mama:

When Mark first came to me about getting a Mustang in fall of 2023, I told him that was fine but we weren’t getting just a standard issue model. We would find a Mach I or something of the like because we are not ordinary and neither is our fleet. He got to researching the topic and when he shared the specs on the Dark Horse, I proceeded to tell him that if he got anything else, I would divorce him. Not only have we always been the black sheep and dark horses of our families and lives but it was handsome, sleek and a modern throwback, shape-wise, to Elanour…who is unequivocally my favourite body style of the car. The timing of this was obviously meant to be, so he called every dealership in the province to provide them the colour & options we were after and while we didn’t get exactly what we asked for, we wound up getting the exact right car for us and our eccentric, wild personalities.

I have had the divine pleasure of operating this glorious machine on numerous occasions. His acceleration and response is unlike anything else I’ve driven. Handling him is a little like riding a sound and speedy barrel horse…he corners at exceptionally high speeds and you’d better be locked in and hanging on. His roar is fierce and loud enough to excite every molecule of your being and make the hair on your body stand up. He’s faster than I need to meet my adrenal rush quotas and sure footed enough to keep us on the road. He’s everything a tomboy girl dreams of driving and I’m so fortunate he’s ours.

Yesterday’s adventure was a relaxing, casual, solo cruise to town for brunch at the local cafe. We had noted a low rear tire on Friday, topped up with air and I’d said I would keep an eye on it during my journey. It was low again at the local service station so after I enjoying a GF chocolate berry pistachio crepe, I took him to the dealership where the young fellas in Quicklane plugged the hole and offered me the souvenir. We live in a very industrial based town so these things are bound to happen. I’m just grateful it didn’t hit the sidewall and the repair was quick and easy. Just after we arrived home, the neighbour’s grandson clipped himself with an axe while splitting kindling and came over to have a human hole patched because I’m trained in emergency medical services. So, it was a day of closing and patching minor leaks for this medic mama. May you all successfully balance driving fast and taking lots of chances with being safe out there.

Cheers!
