oOooO Thanks for this. I will freely admit I am newish to the road course world; this info is greatly appreciated.
WARNING! Road Racing can be addictive......better yet.....will be addictive.
In NASA, the HPDE levels (1-4) are very educational and hands-on, teaching basics up to advanced criteria, always preparing you for the next level. From there....it gets better by moving into Time Trials or even Race classes.
Back in 2008 I participated in my first road race event at Waterford Hills in MI part of a Roush Owners weekend Get-Together. In 2009 I joined NASA and spent 12 years with them. Pic on top was my car brand new in 2007, pic on bottom was what it became by 2012.

So, some updates to my build.

1. Upgraded to a stage 2 Whipple. 112mm TB and a 3.75 pulley.
2. Installed Kooks 1-7/8 Long Tube Headers, with the performance 3' connection pipes, along with a Corsa resonated double H pipe.
3. Installed billet OPG/CSS
4. Tuned by Shoemaker Performance.

In hindsight, I probably could have stayed at stage 1 with the custom tune and headers. I may be making more power than is necessary for track applications. I have considered getting a 4.0 pulley and pulley down for track days. In a recent autocross, the car handled very well, but adjusting to the power was a bit challenging.

Currently, it is super hot, so not a lot of events are happening. This does give me time to adjust and learn the car better at this new power level. I will say it's a blast, and a bit scary....

For now, I have pretty much finished with performance modifications. These last mods will help keep the engine operating safely. Time to drive :) Looking forward to really letting her go wild. It's going to be fun.
