Throwing a battery switch isn't going to do squat if you have a parasitic draw.

All it is going to do is hide the problem

There is always a minor electrical draw when the car is parked.

radio memory, the telematics and modem that run your Ford Pass app, the receiver that allows you to remote unlock your car with the key fob, etc.

These cars go into battery saver mode after 2 weeks of not being started which among other things, shuts off the modems to conserve battery charge.

When I got my 07 mustang there was one on the negative cable, the car sat for months and months on end ( 17 year old car had 14K on it when I sold it do the math) but I did not put one on the 24.

My boss has a 100% duty cycle solenoid that shuts of 99% of the power to the car when it is parked, the only juice that can be used is the It takes one circuit that turns it on and off and that draws zero amps when it is off.

Lots of guys with antique and classic cars with questionable wiring harnesses do throw a battery disconnect when they park the car.

When you park your car, and the various modules time out and shut off after a few minutes, and current draw over 85 milliamps would IMHO be excessive and a indicator something isn't right

They suggested that I buy a battery shut off switch and just disconnect the battery if I know it won't be started for an extended time.
Did you ask them if this was the recommended action from the Ford Engineering hotline?

Can I get an AMEN?

SOME of these cars. I've gone 20 days + multiple times, no warning, no deep sleep, and fired right up.

This made me think, I wonder if the mysterious "module reset" that whacks the alarm, my color & interior lighting may be due to battery preservation?

Dealer told me and I think someone on here mentioned that Sync / module updates are done while connected to a charger to prevent a failed update, and the car will turn off features like intelligent entry. I know a software update will reset some modules, but some of us get random module resets without the update. I have gotten them, sometimes after sitting overnight, sometimes after sitting over a weekend - NEVER after a long term absence though, and a few times it's happened right after a brief ride.

Either way, @Neggytive is right, there's a problem here, and throwing workarounds at the problem are just kicking the can down the road until it's out of warranty. Don't accept this as an answer.

I went a little over 2 months last winter between starts. Will probably do it again this year as well. No starting issues, no battery tender.
