Hello guys, I’m wondering if any of you guys have any info on 60-130 times with a hellion kit. I tried looking all over but couldn’t seem to find any for the s650 at least. I’ve already done all supporting mods and really just trying to decide whether I go with hellions 62/62b kit or if I go with an ess g3r kit which is commonly seen doing 4.xx 60-130s.

I would vote G3R. For the price and simplicity you cant beat it. Here’s my S650 with a G3R for reference. 100% stock engine with supporting mods.

It still blows my mind (see what I did there)... back in the day, all of the engine work, suspension work, and just a LOT of work to get timeslips like that... now just buy a new car, slap a simple bolt on and go... FAST!

Hellion Mustangs have gone 60-130 in 2.79 seconds.

It just depends upon what you want. Turbos are very versatile, and, with an eboost controller you can basically dial it back to mellow anytime you want.

More typical times are going to be in the 4s.

Brevin, whose impressive car is posted in post #2, using the ESS, is running 8.69 in the quarter mile.

So you need to decide whether you are building one of these maximum sort of builds or something more typical. More typical is going to be 4s.

Are you installing a forged short block? What about a built transmission? Axles? Drive shaft? What are you doing or traction on the rear tires?

I can't find anybody doing less than 3.3 seconds on the street, but that is not the same thing as nobody has done it.

As for the forged bloc

I am looking to build a 4s 60-130 car, I plan to keep it as a street car due to the fact that my closest strip is 5 hours away. As for the forged short block/transmission I was honestly just going to wait till one or the other gives up on me then upgrade both lol. My suspension is done already (BC coilovers, steeda front/rear swaybars, Steeda stop the hop kit ultimate handling kit, front control arms, and G force outlaw axles) the driveshaft I have is the PEM Racing cf drive shaft. Tire wise I have some Continentals extreme contact O2s however I am aware they will not give me any traction at a higher power level lol.

Well, I am sure ESS will give you what you want, so don't read too much into my next statement. If it were my money, I would go Hellion twin turbo. Instead of driving it with a belt, you are using exhaust gases, which is more efficient. Turbos also give a lot more torque in the mid range than a centrifugal. Set the waste gate for 6psi, and you are going to get 6 psi almost immediately, with all the torque that comes with it. Because your waste gate is set at 6 psi, boost will stay there and not climb as your rpms climb. Turbos are also much more versatile in terms of simply being able to adjust them in the car while driving, no pulley changes or anything like that. You could install a 5 psi wastegate spring and crank up the boost higher just by using the eBoost 3 while cruising down the road (or dial it down lower all the way back to 5 psi, same thing).

So that is what I would do, but I am not you, and I am not criticizing the ESS at all.
