I did, but I got wrapped up watching the drag strip videos _and_ missed the muffler installed comments. Work keeps getting in the way !
Thanks for reminding me that I need to work and stop reading and commenting here! 😕

There are updated videos later with the Jones dual max muffler installed (with the blower).

I got quoted around 3000$ just to get a cat delete on my 2024 mustang gt, since it’s built into our manifold. As for installing longtubes it’s 3000$ plus the cost of the headers. This seems a little pricey? I’m wondering what you guys have gotten similar work done for.
It’s a 13 hour job.

robvas, what size are those Kooks pipes from the header collector? (both the catted pipe up until that neck down for the resonator, and the competition?)

UPDATE: The competition only connection pipes are 3"
https://kooksheaders.com/products/11513100?_pos=2&_sid=e5e7e65fc&_ss=r

I can't find the spec on the catted version of that pipe, but any of you installing forced induction are going to want to upgrade the catalytic converter from what is offered with Kooks or any other off the shelf header. Step up from 300 cell to 400 cell and a higher horsepower rating with some margin for error on your forced induction beast.

Any specific recommendations for cats? I'd like to go FI eventually but I also want my wife to be willing to ride in the car, what with the smell and all.. I don't have experience welding so I was hoping the Kooks green headers would be sufficient.

If you are going forced induction, review this link and look at all of the specs, especially the advanced series Gen 2 UHO+ for 2017 and newer vehicles.
https://www.gsportbygesi.com/g-sport-emissions-systems-products

Then compare it to all of the others on that same page and see what fits your needs when you start pumping up the psi.

Your stock catalytic converters are made for about 250-300 horsepower per side. I mean, Ford does not release the rating publicly, but do you think that they pay more than they need to get catalytic converters rated for higher horsepower to put in a car that makes 480, 486, or 500 horsepower? Did you check out the price differences at that link I posted?

Thanks! G Sport rings a bell from I was tinkering with my Audi, but my wife drives that now so I never replaced the downpipe.

If the exhaust manifold is coming off anyway, may as well go with headers while I'm at it. I know turbos are usually easier on cats that superchargers in that they convert some heat to mechanical energy, but as far I know none of the turbo kits are set up in a way that would easily allow me to have a cat welded in after the turbo. From what I've read on the 6g forum it sounds like stock manufacturer's tunes use much more aggressive cat overtemp protection than aftermarket, so that might be another hurtle.

"Hellion has done it again! Building on the success of our popular Sleeper turbo system for the S550 Mustang, Hellion has designed an all-new complete twin-turbo system that is emissions tested and compliant. Even though this new system retains the use of OEM catalytic converters post-turbo, the 3″ exhaust outlet is optimized to minimize backpressure and losses. After the first drive, you’ll walk away thinking this is how the S550 Mustang should have came from the factory floor."

They had it for the Gen 3 Coyote cars, as well.

There is a core charge for the cats. I bet you could substitute an upgraded catalytic converter of the correct diameter. I do not think that there is a lot of ground clearance there under the car and after the turbo. I haven't tried it, but I am sure Hellion could tell you about it, or perhaps one of their installers. I can't find any user reviews of the system with cats.
