I know the “making of” video has been posted but until today I hadn’t seen the full ride-along only video. If you haven‘t seen it, here you go:
It‘s really amazing, and the sound is surreal! Finally, a Mustang even GT350 owners will probably admit sounds as good as their cars! Or not…
I will say this: after watching this video all the kibitzing going on in the bigger GTD thread seems irrelevant. I’ve said it before but I’m awfully proud to own a small snippet of the DNA that is part of this astonishing car!
EDITED TO ADD: If you haven’t already, try watching the telemetry on the tachometer. My mind isn’t calibrated in kph and never will be so unfortunately that’s meaningless to me. But the revs I get. Notice that most of the run lived at 7 grand or less with only very brief forays into the 7400-7500 range. Is it possible that the ultimate track Mustang doesn’t need 8250 rpm to get it done? As an aside comment, there were times when it appeared that either Dirk or the car (or maybe both) were loafing just a bit. I don’t mean that negatively, just that maybe there’s even more left in the tank!
I’ll admit I just can’t lay off this thing. My wife has forbidden me to take my new HP Dark Horse out within 24 hours of having watched this video, and is currently refusing to ride with me.
