I think the very valid point is a coupe even with a big engine can be more economical than an SUV / truck simply because of aerodynamics. Here we go with more gas mileage bragging. You'd think we were on a prius forum or something.![]()

Which makes the usage restrictions even more perplexing. Why does the math math for us but not the epa and it’s equivalents?I think the very valid point is a coupe even with a big engine can be more economical than an SUV / truck simply because of aerodynamics.

Yes but even the most efficient V8 driven gently, whilst better than a large heavy big engined SUV is miles behind what a smaller engine / hybrid can manage. My wife has a Ford Kuga PHEV which can easily manage 60mpg as a hybrid (ignoring the pure EV running when charged which is even cheaper)Yep.
That was kind of my point, albeit buried in the post. I don't always get mileage that high but am generally around 22 mpg suburban driving . Drive aggressively and it drops into the high teens. All I'm saying is that the attack on the V8 based upon mileage and the EPA is foolish as is buying a performance car and complaining about the mileage. For me it's the fun factor.
Hybrid absolutely but for a small 4, it depends. My wife's 2024 VW Atlas tops out at 30 MPG on the same trip. It's a turbo 4 cylinder. It IS better around town mileage wise though than the Mustang.Yes but even the most efficient V8 driven gently, whilst better than a large heavy big engined SUV is miles behind what a smaller engine / hybrid can manage. So a Mustang V8 is less bad than an F150 or Range Rover perhaps but a long way away from real efficiency
Beats walkingYes but even the most efficient V8 … but a long way away from real efficiency
I haven't felt the need to ignore anyone on forum...yet.I think the very valid point is a coupe even with a big engine can be more economical than an SUV / truck simply because of aerodynamics.

Why? There are many reasons for owning a Mustang, in my case practicality was a factor too with the large boot and folding seats.I haven't felt the need to ignore anyone on forum...yet.
As for the mileage thing, Mustang ownership isnt about fuel savings. Its about smiles per gallon. And if you post pictures of you MPG and boast about your road trip, I will refer you to the prius forum and roast you everytime.![]()
Because its tradition. Its an American muscle car. I wouldn't expect a European to understand. Not to mention you would agrue with me over the color of shit if I brought it up. So I wont continue to engage. Why? There are many reasons for owning a Mustang, in my case practicality was a factor too with the large boot and folding seats.
Ownership is about what you want it to be not what is prescribed by somebody else.
Well first it is a 'pony car' anyway and secondly it is clearly a modern GT these days (the clue is in the badge) and competes in a completely different world to the original Mustang. Hell a lot of people don't like the S650 because it is NOT traditional enough.Because its tradition. Its an American muscle car. I wouldn't expect a European to understand. I'm available to agrue if you're feeling left out ;-)Well first it is a 'pony car' anyway and secondly it is clearly a modern GT these days (the clue is in the badge) and competes in a completely different world to the original Mustang. You cannot decide for me why I like my Mustang, that is my choice and I have the freedom to make that choice and not be told by you!
You seem more than capable of argrueing (sic) with yourself these days
