Ev in America is a joke. Might work ok in a teensy tiny little country where people have no where to go and nothing to do.

Plus I love how ev fan boys always speak like the electricity is some free magical non-polluting voodoo. Not from burning coal or natural gas and costing $0.19 per kwh.

Erm EV is not a joke and country size has nothing to do with it.

We do not burn coal or oil to produce electricity and most is from renewables now - another win taking away the need for oil company greed and the vagaries of war / not wars

Right now with the high gas prices , Electric is cheaper per mile. Gas prices a year back and its actually closer than some think if you compare an ICE that gets decent MPGS against an EV.

The part killing an EV owner is the horrible resale on many of them. Hardly anybody wants an EV , and almost no one wants a used one. Save a bit on the miles , lose your ass on the resale.

Like I said , maybe teeny tiny itsi bitsi little countries can make them work ok. Not in the USA as of now. Sales proved that.

Used EV's sell well here - good value and cheap motoring. That is of course the reason people buy them!

Now a tiny country is Luxembourg but Europe covers thousands of miles in total so not so tiny, unless of course you are just using the term to demean and insult which I am sure you aren't!

All good and said if you own a house to be able to plug in. A lot of people don't have that luxury. I see numerous videos of people waiting on long lines to charge up. This reported by news media and also reported that the price to charge up isn't as cheap as you stated. The tesla chargers are faster if you can get to one. Otherwise you are charging up slow and if you get caught in a snow storm we all know batteries don't like cold weather. Also remember Trump 1st run regular gas by me in north Carolina was 1.89 a gallon. When Biden took over he shutdown the pipeline and we became dependent on other countries. He also started selling off our oil reserves which drove up gas prices and natural gas went up. My house only natural gas use is my water heater. My bill tripled. Trump took office again and we became oil independent. The price of fuel dropped the Iran war raised prices.
But prices went back to Biden 4 years which is what prices are now. Before Iran war premium gas if i remember correctly was under 4.00

I think you are missing his point.

EV works fine here for folks with a short commute, like those who live in the city and work in the city.

But we have vast distances to cover at times. If I drive to see my son, for instance, he is 30 hours of driving away from me. That is 30 hours of actual driving, not stops or overnight or waiting on electrical charging. Can it be done with an EV? Sure, technically it is possible. But it is a pain and requires a lot of planning that would not be required to drive an internal combustion engine vehicle. And there are drives here in the US that simply cannot be done with an EV.

Driving in a car in England is very different (and I have done both).

I have friends with EVs who are happy with them, but they always have another ICE vehicle in the household, too.

I never look at the price of gas and my 68 Amc Amx needs racing fuel and I drive it all the time. I can see that priorities can put a strain on buying gas. But I have an addiction to fast cars and after getting divorced several years ago. And my ex wife gets no alimony we had one child so child support ended last year. So 800.00 back in my pocket a month i am also been retired since 2008. I speak to car guys in Canada and a lot of them will cross the border into the USA to buy gas. And of course clothes because it's cheaper. I speak to another friend in Milan, Italy he has a Shelby he is always out with large group of Shelby and mustang owners. I am 1st generation Italian and they do it right out there with a big fest. But again gas is super expensive out there. But the cost of living is way cheaper than the USA. I unfortunately canceled my trip to Italy due to the crime. I was going to go to Modena where Lamborghini, paging, Ferrari but they also had a terrorist attack in the town. I know people will say it shouldn't stop me from going. But I am retired NYPD cop the biggest reason I became a cop was that I am always in the right place at the wrong time.

I live in north Carolina and I have never looked at gas prices even when I lived in NYC. I always had fast cars 2 usually and it's an addiction so . I own a 68 Amc Amx that needs racing fuel and I drive it all the time. I traded in my 2014 Shelby Gt500 for the 2025 DH track pack. But I bought the 500 4 yrs ago with 6,800 miles on it. I did a pulley kit and throttle body &tune . I drove it hard all the time had to gas up 2x a week and didn't care. It was to much fun to be responsible. But by me I think super is like over 4.00. I know Canada has been always expensive and Europe especially in Italy it's also expensive. I get some clowns from there bragging that their gas prices are cheaper. I tell them to post the price and I have to ask them how many litre makes a gallon. Lol

That is great for your country but Europe and UK has always been double even triple the price for gas. But people in those countries brag about their prices being cheaper than the USA. But they forget prices are for litre not gallon.

Doesn't England have that congestion tax that you have to pay if you get caught traffic?, I remember top gear getting caught in traffic in the city and his phone got an alert of the violation

But your gas prices are high now too!

Our petrol equates to about $7 per US gallon - a little more than yours but not even double never mind triple.
