I'm not very experienced with mixing fuel for the E30, but I've noticed that some people use Boostane. What exactly is Boostane? How much should you use, and is it harmful to the car in any way? I have a Whipple Stage 2 supercharger, a 120mm throttle body, and long tube catless headers. I'm just curious about what others are doing.

I use it. I pulleyed down to a 3.625" also running the Stage 2 Whipple. I get it to just under 1/4 tank and put the bottle in when I fill it up with 93 (mix with 10 gallons of fuel). If I remember right it gives the fuel a bump up to 102 octane. Big difference especially with the smaller pulley. After a bit of driving initially, the car will recognize the "good fuel" and respond accordingly. I haven't had any bad effects yet.

Check this video. Sounds like you have similar setup to Joel.

He shows you how he mixes E30 easily. As for the Boostane. Yes, some guys run it on smaller pully as Modn mentioned above. I'm only running a Stage 1 so don't require all that extra octane for the street.

There is a mixing chart on the can

they also have an app you can download

I add 6-8oz to a tank to protect against the risk of crappy 93. I'm not using it to try to make 93 into 102 octane gas

It will leave orange deposits on your plugs, o2 sensors, etc, opinions vary on how harmful that is

You don't have to use the additive with the 3.625 pulley as long as you run minimum 93.....but it is fun to dose it every once in a while! Robvas might be on the right track as dosing it a little at a time. I will be moving on to doing just that as it's getting a little off the hook with street tires and trying to hook good in 3rd. Hate to say it, but it's bad ass enough for me for sure!
