Glad it went well !
Did they have to prise up the windscreen etc ?
I don't think they actually prise the windscreen up - its the seal between the windscreen that they prise down to get sealant in.

At least that’s something.
Hopefully post doing the outside appears as it does now ie flush. There is a photo here from the US which clearly isn’t !
I can cope with “ mess “ under the cowling.
Realise that as yet don’t even know if it needs the repair.

My car is in for the recall at present, didn't inspire me with confidence when I asked how many they had done so far. Answer was 1 (same one from when I booked a month ago) and that it was still there but for another issue.

They have picked up that my rear pads are down to 6mm. Not sure what the starting thickeness for rear brembo's are but that's quite high wear for a car with 3k miles on it. Fronts are at 10mm.

Perhaps they measured the parking brake I'll have to check myself.

Hopefully I'll get it back today!

Is your car also in for a service ?
Hope it goes well - assuming they even need to do anything on the BCM - as mine is Thursday and I’m already apprehensive !

Yup it was in for service as well. I've had a notification to say it's ready to pick up. Will report back later if they had to do anything.

On modern rear wheel drive cars, the rear brakes can disappear trying to rein in the power. Could be that?

I think they measured the wrong calliper, printed report is quite different to digital report.

Recall went ok seems it's more preventative these days than just a straight up inspection.

Ford estimated it would take them 1 hour (the inspection part) the full job took them just over 3 hours. They deffo did something as the interior stinks of sealant. Not surprising as it's right next to the cabin air intake where all the work was done.

Exactly why I won't do mine just yet. I know my dealer did more than one but I'll wait until they do a couple hundred! :lying: Glenn

Got mine done today along with the VIN label replacement recall.
No sign of any leak but they applied the sealant anyway as instructed by Ford.
3rd DH they have now done.
No sign of any work other than the sealant aroma.
Car in at 8.30 and done by 1.30.

Glad to hear your experience was great. Since my car has only been hand-washed maybe a dozen times and caught in rain 4-5 times, I'm still going to wait. But it’s good to know the recall can be done successfully! I don't want to poke the bear! Glenn

Mine lives outside and as a daily has already got plenty of wet.
I did say to the SM that now they have added the sealant to something that hadn’t leaked it probably would now do just that - he laughed.

In something you really cant make up...

I got a letter today from Ford, about an urgent recall on my car that i must contact my dealer ...

Letter dated ONE day after my dealer had performed the recall. Can only imagine someone ticked the wrong box somewhere!

That recall letter will have been sent before the systems were updated by the dealer.

My letter was dated 25th November and arrived yesterday.
