If you're thinking of adding after-market additions to your 2024 Eco-Boost Mustang as an adjunct to the FPT, here is something you need to know.

At least two companies offer larger (?) intercoolers, with their only real advantage is the fact their end connections are aluminum rather than plastic.

Larger pipes do offer a minor increase in HP and torque, but only at the upper end of the rev range. At the low end, they're a negative.

There is at least one maker offering a cool air intake which might offer an advantage, but only if you change your hood out to a GT version. The real restriction is not the element (unless it is clogged), but the air inlet restriction in the radiator support. And even that restriction has little if any overall effect.

In other words, save your monies. The only exception to this is, your willingness to pay someone to modify the FPT perimeters. And even that option is a few month away.

i mean this intercooler, that I and a bunch of people I know have, is more than just a slight improvement: Link here
Also, a simple high flow air filter for about $50 is all u need for better power. A 3” catback is ultimately the best for power gains, stock.

Yes it does help, but it adds turbo lag. After owning a dozen or so turbo cars (both stock and add on), any add-on has an effect on performance, depending on what you're trying to achieve. Street wise, most of the time add-ons are a waste or resources.

definitely a fair point. i personally think that negating the heat soak is very much beneficial to not only daily driving but the occasional spirited driver, especially in warmer climates like where im at

It's on the to-do list to look into how to turn the radiator fan on manually.

I've had K&N filters before in the past. I just wonder if the better airflow means more stuff passing throught it, especially when you on the tail end of cleaning / rechanging it. I drive dusty back road to work. Sometimes so bad you have trouble seeing where you're going.

I think researching what replacement air filters to use. There is a line in the sand between ford parts installed in he car and the red motorcraft brand. I might put a mann filter in if they have one. In the sake of HP, keeping ahead of a fully dirty air filter is a good idea. I've usually just do it every 25k with my cars.

Other thing I ave done to the past with other cars far as coolling upgrades. Lowering or adding a plastic air dam ot the underside of the car. Push more air through the radiator / intercooler than bypassing it underneath. There might be some spots you can seal up around the radiator support pushing more through your radiator rather than around it.

Maybe even making a air plate in front to steal a little more air to the intercooler rather than the radiator.

Also, as the miles pile up, cleaning the radiator, condensor, and intercooler externally too.
