I worked for my State and the Federal Government for 30 years. What could possibly have made me wary of them? 🤔

Your point about market manipulation is true. Persuasion is a form of benign manipulation and not only has our government engaged in it, but likely, most of us have to.

When that manipulation gets to the point of negatively impacting my financial condition, or to force me to do something I wouldn't do otherwise............................it's neither benign or government by and for the people.

Well of all of the 4 things I quoted I am TOTALLY happy that they are being done in the UK.

Are you saying you disagree with the 4 items I quoted?
Stick to mustangs/cars, but I don't agree with a sugar tax lol or taxing cigarettes to the point of extinction.

But on items that affect the safety of all people, like insecticides on crops that aren't safe, where people don't know or people don't have a choice to not get, then yes, that should be regulated/banned.

Not what those figures I quoted say?
EVs have grown by 60 percent year over year globally then 50, but have slowed last year to 20 percent. And I bet the slow down continues. Especially when gas becomes cheaper 😀

Well that isn't quite true is it?

Try this example - you drive on the left in the US and stop at red lights (mostly). They are laws that your government enforce via the Police. I assume you are happy with that? It will affect your financial situation if you fail to comply via fines etc. So the reality is that living in a democracy the majority decide the laws and the police enforce them, red lights, smoking bans, etc. As an individual you don't get to choose which laws you obey (you cannot just stick to the ones you like), that is how a civilised society works.

Well cigarettes are clearly not safe (and we all pay for the consequences of those that smoke whether passively or financially) and with the current obesity problem in the US (and UK catching up) then again there is a good reason for it. We ALL pay for smokers and obese people in the end via our taxes, healthcare costs, poor productivity, etc.

We live in a Republic. The majority don't decide the laws. The elected representatives do

That's not true. Maybe that's true for you if you have universal healthcare. But not for Americans.

Back to mustangs!

I am certain the increase will slow down. It cannot continue at 60% or 50% because the numbers are so high now. 60% increase of 1 million is considerably less than 60% increase on 17 million. In fact 20% of 17 million is a lot more than 60% of 1 million. It is just maths.

Elected (democratically) hence representing the people. I think you will find the majority of Americans did actually vote for your current incumbent president.

You pay for your healthcare one way or another such as insurance premiums.

From 50 percent to 20 percent is an incredible drop in growth for what was supposed to be the majority in sales already.

Saturation will happen in the next couple years. Growth will stop, but there will be enough demand to continue investing in both evs and ice.

People are forgetting something...................Most people DO NOT like EVs. Period.
How about a little proof to go along with your unfounded statement.

Fixed it for you....
Most people on high performance ICE forums DO NOT like EVs.
