Hello everyone,
I own a Ford Mustang Dark Horse (S650) and I’m planning to replace the factory seats with FIA-approved bucket seats (track-focused setup).
However, I want to do this properly and reversibly, so that I can reinstall the OEM seats later without any permanent damage.
My main concerns are:
Questions to those with experience:
I’m especially interested in solutions that allow reverting back to stock seats without issues.
Any experience, pictures, part numbers, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

However, I want to do this properly and reversibly, so that I can reinstall the OEM seats later without any permanent damage.
My main concerns are:
- No airbag / SRS warning lights
- No damage to OEM seat electronics
- Full functionality restored when OEM seats are reinstalled (seat heating / ventilation / electronics)
Questions to those with experience:
- Has anyone installed FIA bucket seats in an S650 / Dark Horse while keeping the SRS system error-free?
- Are there any plug-and-play seat adapters / CAN-bus modules that allow connecting the original seat harness without triggering faults?
- How did you handle airbag signals and seat occupancy sensors correctly?
- OEM modules reused?
- CAN-bus interface?
- Coding required?
- Is it enough to use resistors/emulators, or does the S650 require proper CAN communication to avoid permanent faults?
- Was ECU/SRS coding or calibration needed after the seat swap?
I’m especially interested in solutions that allow reverting back to stock seats without issues.
Any experience, pictures, part numbers, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
