I've created a visor for the premium display screen that reduces glare, enhances the screen contrast, and hides those ugly fingerprint smudges and dust specks that light up like a CSI luminol treated crime scene! It simply attaches by sliding it behind the screen into the gap between the screen and dash.
I'd love to hear any comments, good or bad, and any questions about the visor. I have filed a utility patent on this and have the capacity to mass produce it.

Plans for now are to sell it to local dealerships. The dealers I've show this to are absolutely floored with how this makes the display look. They are excited to get this accessory ASAP as it addresses the issue that has turned away some buyers, which is the bare looking display screen!
I'm considering making this available here on this forum once I figure out šŸ¤”

In certain sun angles I noticed the screen colors were washed out, also fingerprint smudges and dust specks lit up like a CSI luminol treated crime scene, lol.
This is visor makes the colors really pop in daylight. Thanks for your input! šŸ‘

Can't say I have had any issues with glare on the screens, and I like the way it looks stock
Glad u replied, that prompted me to edit the post and to include the picture showing the contrast between with and without the visor.
Thanks again for your response šŸ‘

I actually like it, and am glad someone other than Steeda is making a visor for it that won’t cost $1,000.

OK, I have a 4 year commercial art degree, so excuse the detailed comments…..lol..

From a design standpoint, I think it would look better if the sides of it tapered down further down the side of the screen. Would make it look more integrated.

I don’t know how hard it is to do, but giving it a carbon fiber texture to match the dash might also improve it. It seems you tried to match the grain of the upper surface of the dash, and it looks pretty close. But on top of leather, fake carbon fiber, and grained plastic, adding a 4th texture seems too much. It’s also hard to tell from the pics if it is a matte finish or if it has a sheen to it. But I can appreciate how hard it is to make something and have it look like it came from the factory that way.

It’s hard to tell from the pics, but do the edges look a bit raw?

Pics probably don’t do your part justice, because I thought the switch to digital screens looked awful in pics, until I actually sat in the car and all of a sudden it looked OK. I bet if I saw your part in person it would look much better than in pics.

Overall, I like the idea, I like most of the design, but I really think you would sell a lot more if it had a more upscale texture, or even a matching leather wrap if it can be made affordable. Saleen selling theirs for $1,400 is ridiculous, yet they can’t keep them in stock.

You haven’t mentioned what you plan to sell them for, but if you can make a more premium looking texture and still make a profit…..who knows?

Good luck!

Thank you so much for your comment and compliment! The texture is formed by the plastic sheeting manufacturer, it was the closest thing I could find. It's painted flat black now and blends relatively close. Some of the pictures were taken pre-painted. I need to made new ones that better illustrate the visor.
I didn't know that Steeda has a visor. I've been searching for a year since I first created mine and haven't seen anything. Google search turns up the sunvisor or screen protectors. I'll have to search Steeda again, but omg $l,000 and they are selling out!!! 😲
I was told my a couple of molding companies that $300 would be a fair price, idk. Was thinking around $200 or so.
The cost to have an injection mold made to produce this will be north of 50K, 25-30K is just for the mold base! Yikes!
You are 100% correct in the statement that pictures don't do it justice, it looks phenomenal in RL. 😃
Thanks again for your thoughtful and insightful response!šŸ‘

Love it! I've been looking for something like this. Saleen says they have one for $1K. I'll take serial #1.

The cost of making anything is ridiculous. But the more affordable you make it, the better it would sell..

I also saw an idea floated where someone wished someone would make a blacked out part that integrates the two separate screens in the basic GT to look like the single screen in the Premium GT.

anyway…..RE: the Saleen visor cover….

I found the thread, but couldn’t find the product listed on Steeda. at least I know I wasn’t imagining it…lol.

It's cost and time prohibitive. I explored this option and the estimated cost of material and time would be approximately $500 and would take from 15 to 25 hours of print time to create one single part 😳
3D printing is awesome for small parts weighing a couple of grams, the visor comes in at about 320gm.
Thanks for your input though! šŸ‘

Ah Saleen! I was told Steeda had something, no wonder i couldn't find it on their website! Thanks for your reply. Can't believe shelling out a grand for something like this!😳
You're 1st on the pre-order list!šŸ‘

So it slides on and off? So easy to remove for cleaning or if we just want to? This is a GREAT idea. Count me in, as long as it's not $500 or something like that! :sunglasses:

DAMMIT! 🤬 I ALWAYS get those two stupid names confused in my head! Yes, it’s Saleen not Steeda. Sorry for the confusion. I’m terrible with names.šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

I’ve corrected my earlier posts to avoid further confusion.

Now the price of that little visor is $1,400! That’s nuts. They know it’s a Mustang and not a Rolls?

I completely understand, I do that occasionally as well!
Can't believe the price is so astronomical, that's insane! 🤯
I looked it up and it looks bulky and REALLY old school! Not impressed tbh.
