Understanding that sound is interpretative but my personal is deep sound.
I've got kooks 1 7/8 LTH cat less and roush X pipe then stock active exhaust.
I liked the sound of the X pipe before headers but now it's a higher note. It is loud, especially at start up. The popping I can handle but I would like a deeper tone.
Anyone have the kooks LTH with cats and an X pipe? I'm not sure that it'll change much if I add the cats and maybe I should change out the cat back set up.

Borla Cat-back with X Pipe. Stock Manifold/Cats. It was very loud and raspy. Replace the X Pipe with Borla resonated H Pipe. Took out virtually all the rasp and most of the popping. Made the exhaust much deeper. It was basically a plug in easy install.

Stock A/E on Sport mode sounds more like a big block V8 than anything to spend more money on. I know because I grew up with big blocks. These exhausts that people spend money on are a rip off with little to no added power IMO, but we all have that and assh-les.

Maybe changing X to H is best first try since it's least cost...
Don't want to remove headers and already got rid of stock .
Thanks

I agree 100%.
No drone either.

People ask me all the time if I have a stock exhaust because they cannot believe how good it sounds. I run sport and also track. It works for me but I get it that folks want to make the car their own and unique. that's what owning a Mustang is all about !

If up to experimenting try adding some bullet style mufflers in the x pipe. Something akin to: headers (no cats) X (crossover), 2 bullet style mufflers (one on each pipe), axle bendy wiggle, stock a/e cans (mufflers).

Long Tubes are a whole new world when it comes to tone. I put some Kooks LTH's on my 2016 Stage 3 Roush with an X-Pipe. Had the Roush active exhaust. I am sure some would love that setup, as it sounded like a NASCAR when you were on the throttle and wide open. Beyond that, it was very raspy and annoying.

IMO... you are not going to get a deep throaty tone out of a Coyote with LTH's on it. H-Pipe helps... but its always going to sound like a raspy pissed-off swarm of hornets.

go with an h-pipe, you will get a much deeper sound than the x that gives you that European sound
