I went through this same process and used 4 different vendor sample books. I found several that were close, but not close enough in my opinion for a replacement stripe. For a car with no stripes to begin with, yes this is close enough I suppose.

Although, the appearance package stripes might be different than the non. Dark Basalt just seemed a bit too beige/tan in tone.

It should be on the door tag under paint all 4 of these black codes ( G1, UA, UB, UD ) are supposedly the same color but I don't have the formulas right in front of me

UA is the Ford generic black they have used in everything for decades.... my 2005 F150 was UA paint code

I was hoping so because I have a 2016 F-350 that is black and it has that G1 code. That is good news, I will look on the sticker again for those codes. Thank you.

Is it gloss black like the cars with the Nite Pony Package? If so, the paint code is UAW. Not sure if it's different on the Dark Horse, but on Nite Pony Package and even the gloss black on the hood vent and front grille on the GT it's UAW.

I had my spoiler and mirror caps painted gloss black and wanted to make sure I was using the right code from Ford.
