Until you get a VIN, there are only 2 ways of tracking your order. Your dealer or Ford Performance Racing.

Ford Performance Racing
1-800-367-3788 - Option 1
You will need your Sales Code and Order Code, these are on the Preview Order your signed when you ordered the car or the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement), you will have to ask your dealer for a copy.

Once you receive a VIN you can also use Ford Vehicle Order Tracking Status for our Canadian Brothers and Sisters Canadian Ford Vehicle Tracking Status

This will explain the order status.

Just tried this and they asked me for a dealer code instead of an order code. I'll have to check with the salesman tomorrow.

The Dealer Code is the same as the Sales Code. It starts with F followed by 5 numbers.
Example: F01234

Before the VIN is assigned if your order is unscheduled/clean (most are), it's still a crapshoot as to how long it will take to be scheduled for production.

I ordered mine on April 21. Deposit paid. Dealer has an allocation. With the recent change of dealers being able to use priorities 3-9 in addition to the typical 10-19, my dealer assigned priority 3 to my order. It’s a loaded build - premium 700A package, orange fury paint, painted stripes, handling package. I called Ford - the order shows ‘unscheduled-clean’.

I was a little surprised I did not get scheduled last week. Maybe no mustangs scheduled at all this past Thursday? The Long McArthur YouTube (Tim) said it was retail orders only, but obviously that would include me. I am hopeful for this week. If anyone has any insight on what scheduling should look like for the next couple weeks, I would appreciate it.

When you say "the railcar number displays. The carrier name in parenthesis."

Where are you seeing this information? Ford tracking website? Reason I ask is all Ive heard up until this point is that you can only obtain railcar information through the dealer you ordered from once its shipped via the visibility report.

Unfortunately the visibility report is no longer available. Ford changed their system to a real time tracking system. You do need to get the railcar number from the selling dealer and once you get the number you can then use it to track your cars movement. But I don't recommend it.

Fords new real time tracking is the best way to go for the railcars location and ETA plus so much more information. This is same system that tells your dealer all the information from the date your car was ordered to the day it was delivered. A bonus of the new system is it's ability to see your cars location at all times and use the carriers (rail or convoy) system to accurately predict the ETA. I am curious to see how accurate the ETA is on the Ford Tracking website. Before the new system, the ETA was absolutely worthless, all it did was piss off the customer. If memory serves me, Ford actually removed the ETA information from their website because of all the complaints.

You have 2 tracking options, your dealer or the Ford Performance hotline.

If you have a good relationship with your dealer, they can e-mail or text you updates. You should be able to get set it up with the sales manager. I am not sure how much access a salesman or saleswoman has to the tracking system. I am guessing not much. Hey, I am trying to be PC which isn't easy for an old man.

You can also contact Ford Performance for the same information.
You will need your VIN, if you don't have a VIN you will need the order number and sales/dealer code
Ford Performance
800-367-3788 option 1
Open Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5 PM EST

Just in case you want to track the railcar, You should have a fax machine or a printer that can be used as a fax machine, you will need to install the fax utility, that came with your printer, on your computer. You will also need a wired landline or a voice modem (VOIP).
