2024 Mustang GT premium,
Hey everyone! I’m a proud new owner of a 2024 Mustang GT Premium with the performance pack, active exhaust, and MagneRide suspension. This is my first Mustang, and I’m getting close to retirement, so I’ve been thinking about doing some upgrades.

I’m really interested in adding a supercharger for the extra power, but I also love the handling aspect of the car and would like to take it to the track occasionally (not just drag strips). My question is:
Is it possible to add a supercharger and still retain the car’s handling for cornering and track days, or does it mainly turn the car into a straight-line performer?

I’m just trying to set realistic expectations before making any decisions and figuring out what’s most important to me. Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences!

One thing is for sure if you go through the upgrade. You won't need the skid brake, but you might need new brake shoes very soon! Heck, even an Eco-Boost is capable o swapping ends if you're not careful. Imagine what 500+ more HP will do?

Depending on the power levels of your super charger setup also consider/look into changing your oil crank gear to forged, carbon fiber driveshaft, and ford performance half shafts

Think about it like this. An EcoBoost weighs 100lbs less up front than a 5.0, and we all know how much better those handle with the lighter, more nimble front end.

If you add another 100lbs to the front end with a Whipple, you're basically creating a dangerous understeering machine!

To clarify, I should have specified that I am willing to add other mods to assist with the handling aspect. My probably incorrect thought process is things such as the new Super Snake which appears to be able to do both. I understand that I cant have both completely. What I am looking for is your guys expertise to see if it is even possible to do both or do I just need to pick between going fast in a straight line or track.
Yes, i know ideally I have to cars but in reality thats not possible
Lol.

The supersnake has the "Shelby performance suspension" which appears to just be lowering springs with the factory Magneride setup.

Hey I got a question regarding this.

the roush Super charger you don’t need to remove the factory K brace for. The whipple says you do.

do you have to remove the strut tower brace for both? Is there an aftermarket one that will fit if you do need to remove the factory one?

I love the handling of the car, I’d like to keep it feeling close to that, and I’m leaning towards the roush right now due to the K brace. I understand the whipple is a bigger super charger, produces more power. I just want the little extra bump, not making it strictly a drag car.

Actually the Eco-Boost Premium weighs almost 200 pounds less. What's more, almost every GT owner adds the PP, which adds yet another few pounds. Now you understand why an Eco-Boost has a real advantage in the twisties, even if you have the PP and the Eco-Boost doesn't.

I don’t think the STB will fit over either. But there could be custom one or maybe the s550 GT500 one will fit? Or you would have to get a different hood

Yes, I did the mustang unleashed program and we used the eco boost for the autocross course. So basically there is no way I can have both?

you can easily have both, like people have said youll want more upgrades to make the car more easily trackable. id suggest at the very least adding the Steeda handling/stop the hop kits to help calm down the rear and tie the front end back up as youll lose the tower brace.

Thank you. This is what I was wondering about.
Most of our SC upgrades get the Steeda Stop the Hop Kit - https://www.steeda.com/steeda-555-2129-h-s550-stop-the-hop-handling-ultimate-kit

We also upgrade a bevy of other parts but it truly depends on your budget & long term goals:

Happy to put you in contact with our build team if I can help assist with a consultation!

Best,

TJ
I would love to talk further with someone. So please let me what you need from me.
