Your cold start isn't that loud at all!!! I wish mine were like that!!! When I fire my car up in the garage (backed in so exhaust facing the wall) my gf swears that I've started WWIII. I've also got the H pipe.

My dude, get a battery tender. I'm also North of the Wall and am used to seeing -25 to -35c here in Ontario at times. I've started my car 4 times since the middle of November, once every 3-4 weeks, but the battery is fine as I've got her on a tender.
