Pink Floyd's On The Turning Away is one of the best car songs. Starts slow and then the guitars come in at the back end and keep building. Wendy James from Transvision Vamp was something else. All good choices....

Truly a fantastic song, but I want to be in my comfy chair with a glass of nice red, and zone out to it.

It would be interesting to hear what people's favourite music genre is on this thread. I mean we can like more than one style but what is their go to for that special ride on a sunny day? Rock, pop, disco, alternative, rap, punk, country, opera or anything else? And favourite artist...ACDC would have to get a few mentions I'm guessing...but who knows?
As I get older I appreciate more genres (even Kylie). I grew up and live in NW Sydney burbs and am mostly a metal head with some punk, grunge and 70's/80's rock thrown in. Basically I'm into anything that requires actually playing an instrument to produce a song.

Geez DFB5.0 will be happy to hear that! I agree though, these days if I like a song I don't care who or what genre it is.

I have a song I like to blast on the road. It's about a rapper who spoke about how many youngsters get a nice big check and are bitten by the bug. One night his manager called him and said he's got a check for $265Gs. He got on the phone and called Ferrari, and asked if they had a Ferrari for sale. Sales said a black Testarossa. He said he'll take it. Song won't do you much good unless you have a subwoofer. Sir Mic A Lot "My Testarossa".

I am not into rap but I know who Sir Mix-a-lot is...he had a hit here in Oz called Baby Got Back. I also remember a song he had called Put em on the Glass, more so becauseof the r rated video clip. Pretty sure you would have to sign in on YouTube to watch it. And I think he had a black Lambo or Ferrari in it.

Cheers

I'm on the right side of 40 (just), but I've always had a diverse musical taste. Pretty much the only thing I can't stand is heavy metal and rap. I had a country phase, but probably on the pop side of country with the likes of Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Beccy Cole ect. But I can also listen to a vigorous classical, I love the energy instruments create. I also love a good disco beat. And I wouldn't admit this in front of my father, but Dire Straits gets me going too. So yes, I might like a little syrupy pop, but I listen to anything with a bit a grunt to it.

Mentioning Martina McBride, this one should get you tapping, it even has a Mustang in it....................

That Martina McBride song is way better than the Mustang Sally song. When people start singing Mustang Sally because they know you have one...I tell them to please stop. Have always hated it ever since I heard it back in the good old days. 🫤 I know others do like it but....

Haha, yeah I hate that song too.

On the same note, put me down for hating Hotel California. I used to be forced to listen to that song at least once a day at work, but even before that, I couldn't stand it.

At the moment I'm loving this Jessie Ware cover of Nick Jonas's 'Jealous'.

I cant pick a song my list is so varied. Anything from Alessia Cara, The Warning cover of Enter Sandman to Stone Sour's Wicked Game cover, to stuff from Three Days Grace, Kenny Loggins, Rammstein, 30 Sec to Mars, Skillet.... the list goes on and on. But if there was one that gets cranked is Danger Zone.

I didn't know ANYBODY had never heard of Chuck Berry. He CREATED Rock and Roll. Look up Chuck Berry and Tina Turner LIVE AT THE THE ROXY. It's addicting..
