Just wanted to put this out there so everyone has a record of this. My 2024 401A PP is currently undergoing PDI, and as my dealer had offered to install a block heater as part of the purchase agreement. However they have just notified me that the block heater physically will not fit due to the oversize oil cooler included on PP and Dark Horse models. They were unaware of this themselves but have luckily honored my request and are now installing an oil pan heater and battery blanket instead.

If anyone else out there is looking to get a block heater on their own dime for a PP car save yourself the hassle and just get an OP heater or a heat circulation pump.

@Ciulster .....I guess this means you are going to drive it in the winter. At least, I believe, Alberta does not salt the roads as the temperatures are usually lower than the point where the salt works. Ontario does and Mustangs driven there are soon damaged. Nevertheless, I hope you have purchased a front fender repair kit from Hein at DIYvan.com based on the excellent video from Tony Unica. I will not be driving mine from November to April but to avoid IMO very serious damage to the K frame and rocker side areas even from April to November I installed Hein's kit. Can't even see where I did it and for US $100.00 best money I will ever spend on the car. Please do watch Tony's video and if it resonates with you, DIYvan.com has a video from Hein showing him perform the repair on HIS 2024 Mustang. Easy for anyone to do, just follow the video at DIYvan.com  First pic one of the front fender "holes" in my 2024 Premium GT Convertible's front fender well - second pic the repair kit.

Awesome! Didn't even know this was an issue. Might bring it up with my dealer and see what they can do to protect the vehicle, I am getting a full undercoat and paint protection film so I will be sure to bring this up and see if they can ensure it will be protected. My locale uses Calcium Chloride which is just as corrosive as regular salt but only infrequently. Usually it's just sand and gravel but still doing everything I can to keep her in one piece. Commuting a few miles in a foot of snow is gonna be fun enough as is 😁

@Ciulster ..... Please google the Tony Unica video on Mustang Fender Fails. I drove my new 2024GT from the dealer home on 90% 400 series roads and there was sand and gravel all over under the new for 2024 Mustang fiber belly pan (under the engine) and below the new for 2024 fiber pans under the rocker panels. You or the dealer can use some 3M construction tape to cover the holes until you get home and install the kit or fabricate one. If you see the video you will realize how serious it is. I believe I posted it on this forum but you can easily google it. I think there is still a video of "Tony Unica Mustang Under Chassis Issues" on google......also (as I mentioned) go to the DIYvan.com site to see Mustang fender repair kit. The owner Hein has a company in Oregon and he will ship to Alberta. It costs about US $100.00 and takes a week to arrive if he has any in stock. If not it may be a couple of weeks. He has an installation video on his site. IMO serious damage to your can will happen if this is not addressed. I had to touch-up chips to my K frame before I covered the holes - and that was just sand and stones from 400K on paved 3 and 4 lane highways. If Ford is still shipping these cars with these openings and you let salt get in there your mustang could IMO suffer very serious frame damage.
