I think my battery is going to die soon, even after owning the car just for 3 months. The car is built end september 2024 and since then it was sitting on the lot.

When I shipped the car from Vancouver Island to here (around 3 weeks of shipment) the car arrived with a dead battery.

I had to use a jump starter to get the car back to work and I guess since then the battery reads low voltage from the screen.

On top of that I didn't drive the car much, maybe once a week and that also doesn't help. I don't have electricity in the garage so I can't use a trickle charger.

I played with Forscan for a couple of hours last week and that also didn't help the fact that I have a weak battery.
Suprisingly the car never failed starting, even after reading 11.2 volt last weekend.

I drove for over 3 hours and when driving the battery goes from 12.5v tot 13.5v.

After the long drive I parked the car, and now 2 days later it reads 12V when the car is turned off.

I think my battery is not capable of beeing charged to 100% anymore or the reading on the screen isn't accurate. But giving the fact that my car came dead after shipment, I used a jump starter and the screen reads low voltage, I guess I need a new battery.

Also, so you need to register the battery in Forscan after replacing?

Any battery experts here to confirm?

After replacing I know in the S550 all you need to do is a BMS reset which I believe is 3 pulls on the high beams and 3 brake pedal presses…but look that up, sometimes my memory isn’t good… or lock the doors and keep the key away for I think 12 hours .. I did the BMS rest in my 2019 when I had to replace the battery. Good luck

Thanks. I just read the manual on page 307 about the battery. Changing it is now understood. What you said indeed, lock the car and give it 12 hours. It says 8 in the manual but don't want to try it on the minute, so 12 hours is safe.

I don't know how it works on St. Marteen, but you've got 12 month, 12,000 miles warranty on battery. At least we do in the US

I don't have 0 warranty on the whole car and there is no Ford dealership here.

I bought the car myself from Canada and shipped it to my island, since we don't have any Ford dealerships or any other dealerships that sell Mustangs.
