Recently, while driving home in my 2024 Mustang GT PP, I scraped my right front & back wheels on the bridge curb. I am upset with myself for doing this. Anyone here have an advice on what I can do so that it is not so evident other than having to take the wheels off to get them repaired at a wheel shop.

To prevent this, get different tires, that's my advice. On my old Mustang I used to constantly scrape the curb when parking. Then I got Bridgestone Serenity tires and they "flare" over the rim so that problem was solved. They are great tires in my experience. Now on my current car I have smaller wheels, so I don't have this problem.

Hi! I have the pirelli PZ4 summer tires on my car and they do a great job protecting my wheels. Just find a high rated wheel repair shop near you and they should be able to fix it for you no problem!

That's a lot of damage. I'm guessing these are painted and cleared. That's an issue. You can try yourself by finding the correct wheel paints, then filing, sanding, sanding finer until you have a good surface. If you're particular, get it done professionally or you'll never be satisfied.

Research a good mobile wheel repair service. Here in AZ we have some great wheel repair places. Some of the exotic wheels up in Scottsdale cost thousands of dollars and they get damaged just like our stangs.

Im not sure if they are painted. They are factory wheels.

I've fixed small scars with a dremel, but they were diamond cut alloys. Painted wheels are another matter. I did manage to match the copper colour on my Cupra wheels, but it was a mission.
Best to get a pro on it.

Ford calls this polished aluminum, but it’s painted and cleared.

not sure if I answered. Ford calls these polished aluminum. But they’re not polished aluminum in the sense than I know. These wheels are definitely painted and cleared.

There are places that can make that good as new.. You just have to find one. I've seen much worse than yours and seen them come back good as new. FWIW.

I’ve done that before.
Not as bad, just Nick’s but it leaves a pit in your stomach.
The wheel shops can get very expensive. You might see how much a new wheel is.
I know it’s only money, but those wheels are not cheap either.
Good Luck šŸ€.
I feel your Pain.
i’m a little OCD, but I didn’t wanna spend that kind of money for a while. I just left mine alone.

Yikes! That is a pretty bad case of curb rash. šŸ˜”

I can't really tell how bad it is from the photos. If it's just a light scuff (mostly paint blemish; hardly got into the aluminum) you can try a light sanding with a fine grit sand paper or emory cloth, then either mask and rattle can it (if you can find an OEM paint match) oooorrrr..............you can try using a silver wide tipped Sharpie a couple of times per year (what I did on my black Sparcos--though the scuff wasn't any longer than the width of a quarter).

If you're into the aluminum and have ridges and gouges..............I might consider using a body filler of some sort than masking the wheel off and rattle canning the repair back to OEM silver.

Plan C: What @Will2 said.

Good luck!
