Hi all,

I am getting my molten Magenta in few days and looking for some wheel edge/kerb scratch protection as I always get my alloy edges scratched/damaged

Wondering if anyone has used alloy Gators and what's your thoughts. Any alternative suggestions would be much appreciated as well

Thanks

I like how Ford sets up their wheels/tires so that there is a significant "lip" of tire extending out further past the rim. Comes in handy in close calls if you just barely touch a curb or something.

I can't speak for AlloyGators (I think they look bad and will get messed up when you inevitably have to change tires, etc.) but I recommend installing rock guards for additional curb rash protection.

Why rock guards? They stick out like an inch, so you'll hit the rock guard first and hear the scrape before you can scratch your rim (when backing into a parking spot). Discovered this because I barely touched a rock guard against a curb recently and was wondering why I heard a scrape noise. Scrape on the rock guard turned out to be barely visible, cleaned up with a razor blade.
