Put it on a pull, uphill grade at about 3K and switch the mode from quiet or normal to track and back. Its very noticeable. If it’s not I think you got jipped.

OP - stand behind the car at idle and look inside the exhaust tips (from a safe distance). There is a valve inside the inner tips that you can see. Have someone switch modes or go back and forth yourself. See if the the valve is moving. If it's not, then the system isn't working.

Also, the valve opens and closes with trottle input in all modes accept Track. Track is wide open all the time. You will not hear much difference at idle or partial throttle. If you are reving it up, the differences should be very noticeable.

I find sport and track are difficult to distinguish, but normal and sport/track are noticeably different. Also, to me a cold warm up sounds pretty much the same for the first few seconds regardless of mode, until the revs drop.

There is a huge difference when driving slowly up my driveway between track and quiet, because I use those two as a demonstration to my 11 year old daughter, who always complains that Daddy's Mustang is too loud, that, indeed, I have made it quieter. I put it on Track and say, "Listen," and announce, "Now I am making it quiet," and hit the Quiet Mode on the screen so she can see me do it, then wait a second and say, "Can you hear the difference," which is about how long it takes for the valve to close and the engine to become muted. This is at 5-10 mph. And she is always satisfied and does not complain for the drive.

But, she is not going to be begging Dad for a Mustang when she is 16.

My 9 year old son, on the other hand, loves this car.

Sport and Track are definitely different at times when just driving, and Track leaves those valves open constantly, which becomes annoyingly loud. Sport does not do that.

I'll have to pay closer attention, I haven't noticed that. I cruise around in Track most of the time, ironically I switch to Normal when I want to get under it so as not to draw too much attention to another jerk Mustang driver

Did you go back there and look while driving? Yes, there is a difference. I looked......

Did you check if the valves are actuating?
The valves are only working in 2 positions... fully closed and fully opened. I guess that's quiet mode and track mode.

Thats what they are supposed to do at idle.

Now like I said earlier, park the car and have someone give it throttle while you watch the valves. They will open and close with RPM in Normal and Sport modes

The valves are closed in quiet mode and completely open in normal, sport, and track modes.

With someone giving it throttle?

If so, the valves aren't working correctly and you need to take it in.

If it’s a manual, turn on rev-match, push the clutch in, move the shifter toward and almost into a gear, did the engine rev? Switch exhaust mode, repeat.
