For street use - none. What is the practical difference between these two options?
In normal driving not much. The normal limited slip uses springs and clutches, the torsen uses an arrangement of biased gears to provide the limited slipWhat is the practical difference between these two options?
as fortnut and sdsteele said, for road use there's almost none. the difference comes with performance driving or even just spirited driving. the regular limited slip has clutch packs that need time to engage and wear out. the Torsen diff uses some worm and spur gears, and engages instantly when needed because of that. unless you are outright abusing and not doing the proper maintenance on it, the Torsen diff will almost always last the lifetime of the vehicle, where the regular diff will eventually need the clutch packs replaced. one shortcoming of the Torsen diff is that if a wheel is slipping and it has near 0 traction, then it can have issues, but AdvanceTrac will help then by applying a brake and now you have torque again. if nothing else, a Torsen diff might be worth it because of the reduced long-term maintenanceWhat is the practical difference between these two options?
